JennAir JSD2789GES ice maker /water dispenser

I cannot get water thru door or to icemaker. All solenoids are okay (continuity checked), Replaced control board. Ice dispenser mechanisms all work. Actuator switch okay. Water available at back of fridge. I don't hear the solenoids kicking in when actuator switch is activated for water but have 120V at correct wire (black pin 6). Don't hear ice maker fill valve kicking either.Only common item is white/blue wire switched thru door interlock which is okay. Is there another wiring interlock in ice maker which doesn't appear on schematic ?

Dave, this is a bad valve. Replace it and all will be well in the world again.

Re: JennAir JSD2789GES ice maker /water dispenser

If the water is stored in a container matrix in the fridge (to cool it down b4 dispensing) it may have frozen up. best give the unit a complete defrost to see if this is occuring, if so the thermistors may be faulty.

Jennair jcd2289 side-by-side does not make ice

If you are getting water from the dispenser, then the water valve is good. The icemaker will need to be replaced since when the icemaker cycles and empties the ice tray, it should call for the water to refill and it is not doing so. Here is a link to the replacement icemaker.

Water is not going into icemaker, I've replaced

I have a maytag side by side with water in the door, the cold water works but the icemaker doesn't. No water flow into the icemaker, it doesn't appear to be iced up. Can not tell if the selenoid works.

Water dispenser on front of refrigerator door does not dispense water. Ice Cube maker continues to make ice cubes. Defrosting doesn't fix problem.

Water dispensing solenoid is bad. You need to replace the solenoid valve. This typically is independent of the ice maker.

Water not being dispensed thru the door

There is a solenoid-actuated water intake valve in the back of the refrigerator. Actually there are two - one for the icemaker and one for the water dispenser - which are usually combined into one assembly. Sometimes the electromagnetic coil burns out in one of them. The other possibility, which is less likely, is a bad mocroswitch at the dispenser where you press the lever.

Ice Maker not Getting Water

There are two solenoid-operated water valves - one for the water dispenser and one for the icemaker. They're located near the water connection at the back of the fridge. There is no pump; the water pressure sends water to the icemaker whenever this valve is opened by the icemaker controls. Your symptoms sound like the coil is burned out on the valve. You can check it by disconnecting the wires and checking for coil continuity with an ohmeter. If the coil is open, replace the valve. Both valves might be combined into one assembly, so be sure you test both coils. Of course it's also possible that the trouble is in the icemaker itself, but a failed intake valve is more likely.
