I had the same problem. One of the responses indicated a second sent of CDs had the same result. I returned my software and the second set worked. The second set had a sticker containing a serial number for the Drive Erase Pro. This was on the plastic wrapper on the CDs. I did not have this on my first set of CDs. I am guessing the second set is an updated set of disks or a different "batch". If your CDs did not have this sticker, there might be a bad batch of CDs. Not sure how you can determine if you have the set with the sticker without opening the software package.
I had returned my software to Best Buy. The person at the help desk thought the second CD looked suspicious. Looked like there were small bubbles in the CD.
No matter, the second set of CDs loaded no problem. I did not make any PC changes between trying to install the "bad" set and the set that worked.
