It basically spins very fast and is used to separate denser elements from less dense ones. When spun, the lighter elements raise and the heavier ones go to the bottom

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Probably too late now but there is usually a small hole in the centrifuge where a thin shafts can be inserted to manually disengage the locking system.

How to deduce the centrifugation speed from the scale provided?

Do you have a biomedical group in your facility or somebody who's responsible for maintaining your equipment? If you do, they should have a photo-tachometer. They can place a piece of reflective tape onto the rotor to get you the true rpm speed. You probably need an accurate speed anyway to ensure proper rcf for your samples.

Error 1 on the 5402 centrifuge how to repair problem

Dear Sir,

In a 5402 Eppendorf Centrifuge, Error 1 states primarily for an EEPROM error. EEPROM is a tiny memory chip that stores individual details of the centrifuge, mainly the microprocessor time base (for correct time set operations), the mains voltage (115 or 230 V, to inform and set the motor current levels), and the imbalance level adjustment for the imbalance sensor. When the centrifuge powers up, these data are readen, and if all OK, the centrifuge is ready to go. If one of them corrupts, especially the 115 or 230 Volt information, we get Error 1 and no start allowed.
To check and reprogram this EEPROM we have to acess the service routine. This is done by by jumping together pins 1 and 5 of X8 conector, on the base of the electronic board, located behind the power cable panel in the back of the centrifuge. There are about 20 setting or check parameters, but usually 1 or 2 of the described above need to be reprogrammed. Please e-mail me for details:

Code comes up that centrifugal switch failed to close. What do I do to fix?

The centrifugal switch usually pertains to the draft inducer motor. The switch itself could be bad or more likely the draft inducer "squirrel cage" is rusted and lost some of the blades, or the draft inducer motor will not bring the "squirrel cage" up to speed to close the centrifugal switch.

What is a Centrifuge?

Wikipedia says: A centrifuge is a piece of equipment, generally driven by an electric motor (some older models were spun by hand), that puts an object in rotation around a fixed axis, applying a force perpendicular to the axis. A centrifuge is also used to separate the components of blood in blood banks. The centrifuge works using the sedimentation principle, where the centripetal acceleration causes denser substances to separate out along the radial direction (the bottom of the tube). By the same token lighter objects will tend to move to the top (of the tube; in the rotating picture, move to the centre).

but i think this will reset the rotor calibrtion or configuration. my system will stop the run on rotor ja-20 at 5000 rmp; and it change the rotor id set on ja-14 t 18 at 10000rpm.
