Question about Brother HL-2070N Laser Printer
After pulling out a paper jam the "paper" light on my Brother HL-2070N began flashing. I opened all the accesses and found no more paper. I checked the toner and paper size and everything seems fine. I powered it down. Upon powering up it imediately goes to default and the light begins to flash again. Is there a sensor that I might have broken or maybe that got stuck? Any ideas?

Had a paper jam due to a ream of paper left lying on top of the machine. Opened all covers and removed 3 jammed sheets. they were all complete, no tears. Paper light would
not go out. Tried holding go button when powering up, then pressing it again. Machine seemed to go through its reboot
but light is still on. Removed and inspected toner cartridge and roller, all look good. There is a sensor lever on the gate inside the rear cover. It is in the centre, and it connects via a small plastic rod to a latch or something on the right, when viewing from the rear. This rod has a small quadrant halfway
along it that is supposed to be located in a slot in the clear plastic part of the gate. It was not in position, which was evidenced by the fact that the rod was curved, instead of being straight as it should be. With the assistance of a thin bladed kitchen knife I was able to properly relocate it and the printer
works as perfectly as it always has.

I pulled my hair out on this one. I was printing mailing labels using Word 2010's mail merge. Finally I got things going by printing to a virtual printer I had (FinePrint) and then to the printer. Any time I tried to print directly to the printer from Word I got the paper light. Go figure?
