The wall mount blurry player will play movies (Benjamin. Button) but will not advance from the FBI warning for The Good Wife, tv series rental. Help

If other discs are playing fine it is best to give the benefit of doubt to the player and not to worry more as this can be a damaged disc, a pirated disc or one with a region lock. Some times certain players will not play as the tracks can have errors due to damage and so the processor will protect.

Hi, An HO# display is an indication of an internal problem, HO2 - possibly optical pickup. For certain reasons, I would strongly suggest that you bring your unit to a qualified service professional or an authorized center. If you have your own reason(s) of venturing to trying to fix it yourself, a couple of tricks you can try (should you be feeling adventurous and gamble on loosing it all together): 1. If it is an electronic problem, do a service reset; with no disc & tray closed power on, simultaneously press play, pause and back buttons (5 seconds). Unit should reset indicated by blinking of display. If this does not work, try with the power off, press the 3 button then power on; or 2. If it is a mechanical problem, gently shake the unit to and fro. The idea is to partially dislodge the eye from its position, it might have been stuck. Opening the unit will also serve the same since you can do visual inspection. Look for any foreign object along the rail (sliding bar) or any possible obstruction to the operation of the mechanism inside. If none works, you're back to the first suggestion. Hope this works out for you and give you some ideas. Pls post again how things turn up and/or if you need more information. Good luck and kind regards.

This problem is with my home theater HT-TZ512. The disc sometimes loads, plays for 15-30 minutes, then randomly stops. The picture is still on screen. It looks like I pressed the pause button. When I...

You need to try a DVD Laser Lens Cleaning Disc.

If this doesn't work then you'll need to remove the cover and clean the Laser Lens with some Lens Cleaning Fluid and a QTip. Just use a few drops on the QTip and then wipe over again with a dry one.

If the above fails then its the Laser that's failing which isn't normally cost effective to replace.

A good way to check is if it will still play CDs but not DVDs then its the Laser.

Apparently they are locked to region 4 and I have bought region 1 DVDs so they won't play

In most models the unit cannot converted to multi-regions.So it will play only in the specified region in which it is applicable to.But in some unit models there is a procedure to turn the unit to multi region so it can play all region dvd.On all models the procedure to convert the unit to multi region is different. As you have not mentioned the exact model number of your unit.t will not be easy to give exact details. If in case there is a procedure to convert your unit to multi region.

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Remote control command Function
[0] [RETURN] Default Default region code on the player
[1] [RETURN] Region 1
[2] [RETURN] Region 2
[3] [RETURN] Region 3
[4] [RETURN] Region 4
[5] [RETURN] Region 5
[6] [RETURN] Region 6
[P. MODE] [RETURN] Only play DVDs with the selected region; auto switching OFF
[AUDIO] [RETURN] Default Auto switching ON
[ANGLE] [RETURN] Enable video interference impulses (Macrovision ON)
[SUBTITLE] [RETURN] Default Disable video interference impulses (Macrovision OFF)

Check area code at your unit and usualy its printed at back side. If your unit belongs to code 1, it will play only region code 1 dvds and so on other codes.

Sony DAV-C900 Home Theater System: problems with speakers and dvd picture quality Hello all, I hope someone can help me here... The speakers have been going off and on intermittently for a while now. I have cleaned the connections, but it does no good. Sony has these stupid color coded connectors and I do not know how to go about upgrading the wires. If that is even the problem. I have switched the wires around, and when I switch one that works to a non-working connector it will not work. When I put a non-working speaker wire into one of the working connectors, it will work--it almost seems to me that it is either a problem internally, or with that specific connector that sticks out of the rear of the unit. After fooling around with them for a while, I can usually get it to work, but then it will go out for no apparent reason. Another problem has to do with the picture. It has developed these squiggly lines while watching dvd's. Sometimes they go away after a while, but it is certainly annoying. I have attempted to clean the laser with one of those dvd cleaning disc's and even replaced the s-video cable, but neither has resolved this problem. It used to have an excellent picture, even though I wasn't using component cables. Due to my TV set-up, I need to use the S-video hook-up, but like I said it has always worked well until recently... We really do not watch that many movies, so I wouldn't think the laser is going bad--hell, the kids have many more hours on their xbox than this unit has...If I had the money, I would just go out buy a new system--not an HTIB this time, but this year has not been too lucrative, so I am stuck with this for the time. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dana
