Hi, well the worse thing it can be is the controller has failed,
now there are some checks you can do,
First of all disconnect the batteries
1. check the cable going from the controller (black or blue box located at rear of scooter normally under the cover under the seat to the motor, this means disconnecting where there are sockets and straying in contact cleaner (MAPLIN or RS ) or WD40, check all connection coming out of the controller if there is a connection , disconnect and stray.

Look at the brake located on the side of the motor, can be a gold colour, there will be a cable coming from the unit disconnect and lubricate.
Reconnect batteries.
Please keep me posted..

SOURCE: I have a pride victory xl8. Problem - was running

All scooters have a protection system built in to prevent burning up the motor, and the user, should the scooter overheat. It sounds like yours overheated. If the temp. outside was warm to hot, and your weight is near the weight limit for the scooter, and you are taxing the motors over a hill, or unstable terrain, then the scooter goes into "limp home mode", or just enough to get you a bit aways, and then it will turn off. After a few minutes to cool off, it will go again, but shut down fairly quickly because it takes a spell to let the whole transaxle-motor assembly to get cool.

Check your weight, and anything else you may be carrying with you on the scooter. Check the terrain, and incline you are going against. Throttle down for all these occassions. If you overloaded the system at some point, then you may have overheated the brushes. Remove them (2) with a standard screwdriver and see if the copper coil is still flexible and springy. If not, replace it/them.

The damage may already be done, so it may need a new motor/transaxle assembly. An expensive proposition I'm afraid.

SOURCE: pride celebrity deluxe comfortcoach 1v problem-

Usually when a scooter dies, there is an event that preceded the dead state that caused the fault. What were you doing before it went dead?

The biggest culprit for scooters and power chairs is moisture. With a scooter, there are two components most susceptible. One is located inside the top of the tiller and it is an electonics board about 6"x4" in size. If you had the scooter out in the rain without protection over the tiller, water can encroach into this area and short the board. Or, a coke or coffee spill can short it. There's a fuse on the board and if it is blown, then likely the board is shot as the fuse merely keeps the tiller from going into a total meltdown in the event of a short. Boards run about $25.00 to $45.00 to replace. Inspect it and look for any signs of overheating or corrosive buil-up and see if the fuse has blown.

The second component is located under the shroud beneath the seat. It is a small metal box which is the power control module and it controls all of the operations of the scooter. It has several wires going into and coming out of it (on-board chargers for some scooters will only have one wire going in and one coming out, sometimes two). These boxes are water resistant, but are susceptible to damage if the scooter has been run through a puddle and a lot of water has splashed up onto it. These are several hundred dollars to replace, but first check all of the fuses coming off the batteries that will lead from the battery to this control box and insure that it isn't a blown fuse. These fuses generally don't blow unless the scooter was operated beyond its capabilities, like driving it in sand, mud or other unstable terrain that puts an enormous strain on the motor and pulling a lot of juice from the batteries. Finally, check all of the connections that clip together. Don't rely on a visual inspection, take them apart, and reconnect them all to insure a good, tight fit.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: batteries are fully charged but won't go forward

it should show 24v not 13,5volts, sounds like you only measuring one battery,

Check the fuse under the seat and check the reset button,

Could be a bad connection to the batteries or to motor check the B+, B- voltages, should show around 24v.

GeWiz.

My scooter wont charge

Check to make sure the scooter isn't in free wheel. Make sure the scooter's drive is fully engaged. My scooter gets wet and that wetness messes with that mechanism I have to lub it about every two months or so. There is a switch associated with the freewheel lever that disconnects power [hot side] from the motor when the lever is in the freewheel position. On my scooter this switch gets stuck open or the lever will be stiff and will allow the switch to close. WD40 helps.

Battery fully charged, horn works but no power to drive wheels

Make sure your freewheel brake is in the DRIVE position. Check your owner's manual for the location of the free wheel lever, ususally it is near the rear of the scooter. If the chair is in DRIVE mode but the wheels will not turn, you may have a motor problem which would require replacing the motors.

Have you checked the free-wheel lever is in the correct position?
Did the machine suddenly become faulty, or has it had faults for a while?
Good luck. Neil.

Led lights flash and Pride Go chair won't move.

Firstly disengage the drive levers and then "flick "them in fash.
Second pull out the large plug that is between them.
Check for damaged or bent or loose pins. press it home firmly .
I did this on my wifes chair and she zooms around.
All switched etc should be off during charge.

Lastly i fully discharged then recharged the battery to ensure no "battery charge memory".
To fully dicharge i shoved a small box between back wheels so to lift of ground and then a elastic band to hond controler on.

New batteries, fully charged, still wont work

I will ask but don't take offence, so many people overlook the obvious, have you checked the free wheel lever/s are not set to free wheel (if it is the scooter will be relatively easy to push forward or backward) if set to free wheel then move lever/s to drive position
http://www.pridemobility.com/pdf/Owners_Manuals/US_Scooter/US_Sonic_om.pdf
this is a link for the sonic scooter user guide, not 100% sure that it is the exact one or not but it should show you were to find the free wheel lock on your scooter it is in this guide and I would be surprised if it is not the same as yours. Hope that helps. Mark.
