New lamp, now color variation, dull picture and overheating

We just replaced the lamp on a Mitsubishi WD-62531 and when we turn the TV on, the screen shows red tones on half and green tones on the other half. The picture is also very dull. Also, TV started to smell hot. Help, please!! Thx

The picture is dull, what i have to do for the TV?

The usual cause of the DLP's geeting dull is the front small projection mirror gets dusty and needs cleaning. The mirror is located dead center in the front after removing the screen assembly. Its a small mirror directly in front of the lens assembly of the light engine.

Mitsubishi WD-62531 Replaced lamp 2 weeks ago. Red light flashing again. Same problem but the lamp is fine. Sound but no picture.

You have either a bad ballast (it powers the lamp) or a bad DMD board. Either one of those will result in a no lamp fire issue. Have a technician look at it...

Color

If the tv looks now dark this is the first symptom of a lamp replacement (refer to the user's manual to do this job) and get a Mitsubishi original replacement.
the best picture setting (when the lamp is back of course) depends in the light of the room.
Now if after replacing de lamp and playing with the settings and the screen still pale, dimm, not enought color. a cleanning in the reflexion area is needed. (technican job)
