Which fuse is blowing? Do you mean your breaker fuse for your house wiring? If your breaker is popping, then there is something internally wrong with the RCA TV, like a short circuit in the wiring).

You might look at this FixYa link:

Do you still have the original fuse? There is numbering on there that shows the specifications. You probably need a slo-blo type fuse, 3A or so, but I can't be sure on that.

    Try this link:

I would get the fuses from Radio Shack.

One of these should do the trick

If the fuse keeps blowing, even though the correct type is installed, then there is another problem (probably with the power supply) that is blowing the fuse.

  • Mike McWhinney Jan 23, 2009

The power supply is inside the TV. It has the transformer.

    Check this link:

You might contact RCA for information on repair/service for this. Otherwise if there is someone locally that can take a look at it (like a TV repair shop). I would not spend more than $50-80 to repair it.

In general, a transformer/power supply will look something like this:

I have a 86 dodge d100. It keeps blowing the main fuse from the alternator to the battery. I have a 100 amp alternator and a standard regulator. Do you think I need a bigger regulator. It only blows...

More testing and info needed. With the car stopped, how many volts at battery? With fuse out, how many volts at each terminal? With vehicle running, repeat previous measurements. What size fuse is popping? Answers to these questions will lead you in the right direction.

My Fender LX1506 powered mixer keep blowing the fuse as soon as i turn it on what is the problem?

There is a direct short somewhere. Is the fuse the right size amps? volts? You dont want to put an dc fuse in an ac power amp. Double check your fuses.

My tv wont turn on when i push the power button it ticks??? what coud be worng

if your tv is not powering on, firstly check the switch contacts, rectifier diodes, power trsnsistor, fusible resistors and zener diodes. all these components are at power supply section.

make sure that a HT voltage of 90-115v, shows at the line transister near the line transformer.

note-----a tone be head on the supply.

Where can we get SB fuses?

SB stands for slow blow. If a fuse is the right size physically and the same amp and voltage rating, a slow blow or time delay fuse is the same, no matter what the markings.

No power to tv

The power management and protection circuits have taken over. There is something taking too much current and the protection system has shut the system OFF to prevent further damage ...............if you are familiar with tv service you can check the main fuse that should be close to where the power cord comes in,if you find the fuse blown it needs to be replaced with an exact replacement for AMPS rating and VOLTS rating as well as size,if the fuse is blown black we might have more problems ahead in the circuit and it will blow up again as soon as you plug the tv back in,if it blows again it will need a more involved repair, the problem could be in the primary side of the power supply.......Check horizontal output transistor.............

Hi,
It takes a star driver if I am not mistaken to take the back off probably two different sizes one for the top bottom and sides and one size for where the rca jacks are.. I only recommend checking the fuse...if blown never put foil around it. Takes a 4 amp. 5 amp would be ok. Dont go over this. If the fuse is good you should take to a good tv repairman. If blown and blows the fuse you put in take to tv repairman. Anything past this is highly technical. Hope you have a blown fuse only.
