Question about Sewing Machines
My machine was fine. I turned it off to reset center and to contine to the next design, but now it wont power on. I have checked the plug...FINE, breaker...FINE, plugged in...YES (to the wall and to the machine) HELP
I had this same issue, machine would not power on. I read another forum that mentioned the bobbin and I thought it was far fetched. HOWEVER... I removed the bobbin, blew air into the bobbin casing to dislodge any fabric bunnies and the machine powered back on. Talk about quirky!

I had the same problem. A matter of fact one time while embroidering something happened to bend the needle and it just turned itself off. I was ready to pack up the machine to return it to the seller but then after about 5 min of my fiddling with it; unplugging it changing the plug messing with the wheel, taking off the embroidery unit, turning the wheel and cleaning the bobbin area it turned back on and I was able to finish my design. So not sure which helped to get it going again. But then it happened again that it would not turn on after I turned it off (regular sewing no emmbroidery unit attached this time). So I turned the wheel a few turns and tried again and it turned back on. Kind of quirky but at least now I know what it takes to baby my machine LOL. Other than that I love this machine its doing a great job embroidering and sewing. I have another Singer machine simple plain sewing only, just bought last year and it works well too. I now kind of wish it had the needle up down possibility. The automatic threader on the Futura though sometimes works and sometimes doesn't the one on my simpler machine is easier to work with.
I grew up with a Singer treadle machine from my Grandmother and I wish I still had that one. It did leather and thick fabrics without a problem while the newer machines you kind of have to slow down or make sure you have a fresh sharp needle for things like that.

I had the same problem, go head with machine off and embroidery unit off also turn wheel toward you. If it still won't go try winding a bobbin that is what happened with mine it seemed to undo the stiffness. You can also take the cap off the wheel and make sure there is no thread wound around it.
Good luck if this does not work there are other tips but it would take all night to email all the steps.

SOURCE: My machine won't turn on!
if your machine is on warranty take it back to the supplier you bought it from.or try to unplug the machine and plug it in back to go through its cycle and reset it self.if that does not work then you are having problem in the machine power supply.if you ran out of warranty, have a tech look at your machine.good luck.
