It should be marked with a "L " if it's a backwards thread.

SOURCE: Changing blades. To loosen the blades nut, which way does it turn?

hi. you dont say what make or model but I offer the following. if it's just a single bolt or nut holding the blade it will rely on a bellville type washer (dished ) or will be pegged either side of the nut or bolt, if the later try to drive the pegs down level with the mounting boss, now get a couple of friends to lift the whole deck so you can secure the nut or bolt in a vice (vise) and using both hands turn the blade itself the opposite way that you would turn the nut, this has never failed for me, if the blades counter rotate, one will be left hand thread the other right hand. bear in mind that a rotary blade spins at around 150-200 mph, every time you hit an obstruction (and you will) the blade will tighten particularly if secured with a belleville type washer. best of luck

SOURCE: are the nuts holding on the blades reverse threaded?

If a blade, when viewed from above, rotates clockwise, it will have right-handed threads. This is because the shaft is turning to the right, and the resistance imparted on the blade will tend to tighten a right-handed fastener. If a blade rotates counter-clockwise it will have a left-handed fastener. I don't know this mower, but this is a universal thing.

What direction to turn nut to remove blade from an HU625AWD LAWN MOWER

normal right hand thread so counter clockwise to undo

HOW DO I REMOVE THE BLADES

The blades are typically a 'right hand' thread and tighten against the normal blade rotation for safety reasons. This means they have a tendency to work themselves tighter during use. Try using a good pair of LEATHER gloves and hold the blade with one hand while loosening the bolt (or nut) with the other. To loosen, turn the bolt (nut) COUNTERclockwise.

If this is a push mower... REMOVE THE WIRE FROM THE SPARKPLUG FIRST !!!!!! Push mowers can start when rotating the blade by hand because it turns the engine over just as a crank or pullrope would.

Make sure to take note of the positioning of the cutting surfaces of the blade and re-install them correctly...many mowers have had their blades installed backwards by mistake.

Take extra care when re installing them as they will now be SHARP !!!!!

To remove the circular saw, which way do you turn the nut hold the blade on the saw?

For any saw blade or grinding wheel, the rule is this. Pushing against the points of the teeth should be the direction that tightens the nut. So you must loosen it in the same direction that the blade spins. For example, if your saw blade is on the right side of your saw, then the blade spins counterclockwise, and the wood pushes against blade clockwise - so you turn it counterclockwise to loosen it (which is in the same direction that the blade spins.). If the blade is on the left side of the saw, you loosen it clockwise. Good luck, Al K

When changing the blades.....how do you keep them still while undoing the nut? Also.....which way do the nuts come off.....clockwise or counterclockwise?

You would either need to hold the blades with a gloved hand or wedge something between the blade end and deck to stop movement. The nuts or bolts for the blade will unscrew counterclockwise...that is....from the right to the left.

To remove the blade, does the bolt turn clockwise or counterclockwise?

As viewed from beneath, the bolt is loosened by turning it counterclockwise. They are generally pretty darn tight. Use a block of wood to hold the blade from rotating. A rubber mallet to encourage the wrench usually helps too. By the way, the rule for which way to loosen a bolt or nut that holds a blade by it's center is that loosening is in the same direction as the blade normally turns. This is because the work (the grass in this case) tries to resist the blade and therefore pushes against the direction the blade is turning - and that MUST be the direction that the blade would be tightened (otherwise it would be loosened in the course of using it!). This applies to lawn mowers, edgers, circular saws, grinders, etc. I have never found an exception to this rule. Good luck, Al K

Black & decker mm850 can not get blade off so can replace how do I get off tried loosen clockwise and counterclockwise plates move will not loosen up

The nut is counterclockwise but will most likely take an impact wrench to remove the blade because the impact will not need the blade or spindle to be held in order to remove the nut.

Thanks,

Chad

remove cutter disc from pto
hold blade in vise and weld the blade bolt head to blade on the grass cutting side using welder ( this transfers heat to threads and helps ) then undo nuts while still clamped in vise

repeat for other blades

I cant get the nuts off the blades on my cub cadet do you turn them l or r

Not sure on your particular mower but most all mowers are left hand threads so you would loosen like you are tightening normally. I hope that is clear to you. lol
