SOURCE: What is a BOB punching bag made out of?

Both the base and pillar holding the torso are made from high quality plastic that is very strong and sturdy. The torso section is made from rubber. They are designed to be as lifelike as possible, so usually the torso is made from a harder rubber than the face section.

disconnect your battery. the air bag is powered by it. once disconnected you can punch your air bag sensors as hard as you want and it wont do a thing. I wouldn't advise this tho, as when you plug in you battery you air bag might pop right out at you. AND ITS REALLY LOUD. so as long as your careful you don't even have to touch the air bag. the air bags are set off by sensors. usually in the front by the bumber or side panels. so impact on the front end would casue them to go off. even if you punch a steering wheel the air bag will not go off because it only goes off when impact is detected at the front. or back. they are underneath your cars skin. so you are as safe as a baby kangaroo.

Is there a different technique used to hitting a double-end punching bag?

The rhythm is completely different - other bag styles don't punch back. Training with a double end punching bag will teach you to bob and weave, slip and duck, keep your hands up and to move your head.

How sturdy is a body punching bag device?

Technically, you can hit a BOB bag with the same amount of strength you would a traditional heavy punching bag; however it would defeat the purpose. When you hit as hard as you can your aim is to develop power, strength and stamina. These are not the same goals you would be working towards training on a BOB.

My punching bag is starting to split; can it be repaired?

If your tears are minor tears and you do not want to shell out lots of money then you could use duct tape to cover them, however there are inexpensive wraps that you can buy to replace the original, I saw one from Everlast not long ago.

How do you fix the bob when it has a tear in its neck. the head is starting to come off.

I had the same problem, started with inch long tear in his adams apple ,eventually more than half his head was fallin off. I took a nice sharp knife and pirced a hole an inch above and below the tear every 4 or so inches and stuck zip ties through em. Feed the end of the tie through the top hole going inward. Do all the top holes like that. Once your done with the top feed the now inside ends of the ties outside through the bottom holes. Do this all the way across, THEN feed the ends through the locks and zip em tight. i then put a scarf on his neck to hide the tie ends, or i suppose you could tape em down. I dont think striking the ties will do any damage to your hands it just looks tacky. Make sure your holes are atleast an inch away from the edge of the tear so the ties dont rip through the "skin" inbetween them.

Century bob

Cheap plastic nipples are stripped out! Moving it while Bob is still attached & kids jumping on Bob's shoulders did the same to mine... I am going to try short bolts & nuts after dipping in plasti-dip/rubber product of some sort.

I have a cut in the neck of my bob body opponent bag. its about 1 inch long right on his neck. how can i repair the cut?

Due to the material that is used, I'd get some fishing wire and sew the cut up. Stitch it normally, then go back over cross-stitching to get double the holding capacity.

I'd then use some doctors tape, it's very sticky and will keep the cut together.

I know this sounds like doctors and nurses but it will work. Fishing wire isn't going to snap, the only problem I can see is the bob body might hang its head slightly when you pull the stitching tight. Either way a cut to the neck will make him look hard as nails :)

Hope this helps. Your vote counts a lot. Thanks.
