You should be able to find a replacement speaker for that unit though mouser electronics.

I would suggest dealing with the speaker exchange in florida. You can take the speaker out and mail it to them. They will either match it up to a replacement or repair it for you. Their prices are really good and they have a super quick turn around. I have used them several times with awsome results.

Good luck

Altec Lansing ACS400 (Desk top stereo/Dolby Digital speaker & Sub, circa 1995) [right speaker] does not work; how can I fix it?

realistically, I would say they've had their time, and it would not be worth repairing. it could be more than just the speaker that blew, parts for desktop speaker systems are almost nonexistant unless you know you're way around jury-rigging electronics. Plus, there are quite a few new sets out there that would be superior to what the ACS400 puts out, for decent pricings.
I myself am a big advocate of the Logitech THX-certified product lines- they have excellent bass, crystal clear sound, and are great value for the money.

Something blew-up in the speaker cabinet. it turns out it's the protective lamp overload. May I know if you carry that? Thank you

Usually that lamp part ONLY protects the tweeter. If the woofer doesn't generate sound, then you probably blew the speaker as well. This speaker is rated at 250 Watts PROGRAM... that means your amp you drive this with should be no bigger than about 150 Watts RMS or you can blow the speaker. You should be able to get reasonable sound for a 20 foot square room with this unit.

Why does only one speaker channel play? Did i blow a fuse if the speaker wires touched?? Where are they located?

If its the stereo = Blew a channel, Get a new one.
If its the Amp = open it up , there should be 2/4 little white fuses,,
find the one with a light Brown/Black burn mark, remove and replace bad fuse.
If amp is all Digital Buy a new one..

The high and mid tone speaker has been broken ,where can i get new speakers

It's more like the "crossover" that's inside cabinet. Crossover splits signal to the speakers hi's, mid's and lo's. It's highly unlikely you blew you blew hi and mid speakers. Contact folks like Radio Shack, etc for optional crossover(s)

I have Bose speakers, and one speaker (front left) just randomly started to do a very high pitched buzz when I turn on the radio, cd, ipod, or anything. Its very annoying. Is there a way to just disconnect...

Sounds like you blew that speaker. You can definately disconnect it but I'm certain you will not like the change to your soundstage. Meaning you wont like how the system sounds now.

Buy a factory replacement and just swap it out!

Replace speakers or one speaker

Laptops have very complicated circiute board and if you do not know anything then please do not try it because if something goes wrong then the laptop will be completely dead and it will cost much more than replacing the speaker.

Does it blow the fuse if you disconnect the RCA cables and disconnect the speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp?

Does it only blow the fuse after the head unit is switched on (only after remote voltage is applied to the amp)?
