It means that the transfer is in process. It's letting you know that you shouldn't turn off your camera - it is busy!

Can't play back videos on my experna; memory card Sandisk class 4 8Gb. Have a canon Vixia HFR10 camcorder

Okay, ours is a different brand (JVC) but they may have some basic similarities in function. To playback video clips stored on the memory card, put the memory card in the card reader slot of the computer and put the files onto the computer. Playback the clips from your computer video or photo file. (Ours won't playback video stored on the memory card through the camera.)

To playback video clips stored on the camera hard drive through the camera, we open the viewer screen, look at the function keys on the camera body, select the "Play" button. On the screen it displays thumbnails of the various video clips. We use the toggle/function key to select from the menu containing options for playback, edit, delete, protect, etc.

this is a very odd problem, I have the same camera and it works fine, your best bet is to buy a usb SD memory card dongle. they are about 14 dollars, this will solve your problem with the photos, but I don't know why your camera won't work properly with the cable., have you tried it with the cable on your friends computer?

Scandisk memory card keeps saying error

Some cameras will not work with the larger flash cards. Also the SDHC requires an adapter that accepts the high density. Many built into the computers do not accept the high density and will demand they be formatted. Verify the requirements of the devices you have for compatibility.

Hey i was just wondering how to upload pictures back onto my camera?

Hello,
  1. It is has a memory card (and which recent camera does not have a card?), take the card out from camera, insert it into a computer media slot (SD, MMC, SDHC, MemoryStickPro, etc.) compatible with the card (or a 5 in 1). Once it is recognized by the computer, locate on the card the folder where the pictures are usually stored (DCIM or something else). Then copy pictures from your computer and paste them in the relevant folder on the card.
  2. Explore the camera software and see if it can transfer files from the computer to the camera.
Hope it helps.

Memory card fault or camera fault?

When the camera writes the image files to the memory card, it also creates index/information files. Without those files the camera will not display the images.

Check the software you used to upload the images with. There's probably a checkbox or option that tells it to delete the images from the card after uploading them.

Uploading pictures on PC

This one is easy. Buy a memory card reader and do not use the camera usb cord. A card reader will always be the easiest way to transfer photos from memory stick to PC.

Upload pictures to memory card

This model doesn't allow you to upload photos from a PC to your memory card whilst the camera is connected to the PC. You will need a memory card reader.
