Panasonic dv player keeps stopping

DVD player will work fine when the dvd is first put in, but after maybe a minute, it'll freeze for like three minutes. This is a panasonic dvd/video cd/cd player, that says, "Hi Speed x 100." Please help.

Re: Panasonic dv player keeps stopping

Does it freeze in play also? Might be an optical pickup issue and require a replacement pickup.

Dvd player trys to read disc but stops with a HO7 message, worked fine last night, but we did put a dvd in to watch but something came on the tv we wanted to watch and didn't turn off dvd

This is a motor problem. Here is what to do to put it right.

Open the disc tray and switch off the power, then remove the lid off the player. Locate the disc motor and where the spindle goes through the motor put a little WD40 or light oil (but not too much) or it will get messy.

Turn the disc motor a few times yourself and let the lubricant soak in. Leave it for about 30 minutes then try it again - and it should work.

This works in a number of cases, though I can't guarantee it will work for you. TRY IT! (:-)

Pioneer DV 310 K region free

Step 1) Download the pioneer firmware here

The site says the firmware only works on region 2 players. For this model it worked for my region 4 player in Australia

Step 2) Burn this file to a CD-ROM with name PIONEER as per these instructions -

Step 3) Load the CD and your DVD player with ask you to flash the firmware. It says press play to start but instead HOLD DOWN ENTER during the entire process. DO NOT switch off your DVD during this time. When the tray opens take the CD ROM out but keep the DVD on. The flashing can take up two to three minutes. During this time HOLD DOWN ENTER ON THE REMOTE. The entire time!

Step 4) The DVD player will reboot. The tray should be empty. It will then load the tray back into the player. If the signal is disorted switch on and off.

Your done! Should work.

The most complex way of region freeing a DVD I have ever endured! :)

DVD Player will not play 20th Century FOX disks

The Panasonic is not "region restricted". This is a security safeguard by studios to keep people from region 1 from using region 3 content. Some material is released in other countries first and later in others. This keeps other regions from using the content from other parts of the world before it is relaesed by the studio there. Your Zenith is not a region free player and the Panasonic is. There is sometimes hacks on for DVD players to be set to "region free" but not all DVD players are built with it. SONY is another non-hackable DVD player.
