I cant get my ge usb wirelessmouse modle#98763 to work

it is a plug and play device if the blue light comes on when plugged in it's working power wise anyway install all new batteries into the mouse press the blue light button on the usb and the little black reset button on the bottom of the mouse at the same time this should fix the problem if not you may have a port problem, the mouse/usb is bad or you're using vista which is nothing but a problem you'll need to install specific drivers then they do exist i've seen them just don't know the URL

Aopen 0-35G Optical 5 button Mouse

I just started using this old mouse that I had & I have Vista 32bit. By default only the 2 buttons would work but I did install the R3.32 drivers and now everything is working including both scrolls. Worked even though they are XP drivers. Hopfully they will work with your Vista version. Reboot required.

Driver

The original driver that came with the mouse is useless in Vista. You can however get the basic functions to work if you make sure that the mouse settings in the "Device Manager" are set to show that you are using an "HID" compliant device. Also, in my case, when I tried to install the mouse on my laptop, it was showing up in "DM" as an "other" category as an "unknown" device. I just selected the "unknown" device, clicked on properties and updated the driver using the automatic function and that got mine working for me. Once I succeeded to get the mouse working, the "other" category dissapeared. I do not know if it switched to the "mouse" or the "HID Devices" category nor do I care now that it works.

** DO NOT waste your time looking for the old driver or a new driver! There are no updated drivers or software for this mouse to be used in Vista nor will there ever be. That info come straight from Micro Innovations.

Good luck and keep trying different settings in Device Manager until you succeed.

in control panel device manager, select the device and attempt to re-install the driver from a list of compatible drivers - select HID Compatible Mouse as opposed to USB Browser Mouse
