Not sure if you are up to this but if you remove the bios battery for a minute it will reset you may also be able to search for manual for laptop or you may have one

Remove bios password

If it is just a BIOS password you can try as many times as you want. If it is a HARD DRIVE password, do not even try a password or it will lose all of the hard drive's information.

Unfortunately if none of the following passwords work, you may have to take the laptop apart and take out the jumper next to the CMOS battery (it looks like a watch battery).....wait 10 minutes then put it back in. This will reset the bios password.

First, try the word "Toshiba". Sometimes manufactures leave a default bios password for servicing. Try the word "toshiba" upper-case and lower-case in every which way.

If you know the BIOS manufacturer you might try one of these:

AMI BIOS Backdoor Passwords:
  • A.M.I.
  • AAAMMMII
  • AMI
  • AMI?SW
  • AMI_SW
  • BIOS
  • CONDO
  • HEWITT RAND

Toshiba Satellite 1805-s253 memory upgrade

Usually this means it supports 512 mb of "Single sided" ram, which is rarer and more expensive... the usual ram you buy now is double-sided.. which will often only see one of the sides in older machines.

Is there a backdoor bios password for a Toshiba laptop (model #1805-S253)? A previous employee password-protected the bios but "neglected" to tell us what it is.

The Backdoor passwords are not determined by the laptop manufacturer - the backdoor passwords depend on the manufacturer of the bios itself. Is it an Award biosor an AMI bios etc?

Award BIOS backdoor passwords: ALFAROME BIOSTAR KDD ZAAADA ALLy CONCAT Lkwpeter ZBAAACA aLLy CONDO LKWPETER ZJAAADC aLLY Condo PINT 01322222 ALLY d8on pint 589589 aPAf djonet SER 589721 _award HLT SKY_FOX 595595 AWARD_SW J64 SYXZ 598598 AWARD?SW J256 syxz AWARD SW J262 shift + syxz AWARD PW j332 TTPTHA AWKWARD j322 awkward

AMI BIOS Backdoor Passwords: AMI BIOS PASSWORD HEWITT RAND AMI?SW AMI_SW LKWPETER CONDO

Problem with freezing/starting

Hi,

Does the machine boot to bios? If so, it could be the harddrive. If it won't even boot to bios, try changing or re-seating the memory. These models are a bit buggy.

Thanks, good luck
