Shutter Curtain Doesnt Reset Mirror

If your shutter curtain doesnt close, it may be out of Sync with the shutter button. My Minolta x700 had this problem. My camera guy fixed it for me with a couple of tinker moves. Contact your nearest camera repair shop (if available) and ask how much it would be to fix the Sync between depressing the shutter button and the curtain. it may just be some grime that has it stuck.

I just bought the minolta XG-A, will I be able to adjust manually the shutter speed? I just bought it only, still has not been shipped. I bought it mainly for a film photography class but I just read that...

Minolta XG-A can work in full manual mode. The lowest shutter speed is 1 second and it had Bulb mode where the shutter is open as long as you press the button.

I have a Minolta XG-A camera, and i can take a picture but the shutter is stuck?

My shutter does that when there is low light, or just slow shutter speed. You could try changing those settings, otherwise, last time mine got stuck, I loosened a screw on the bottom right under the shutter release button and the shutter just snapped back into its place.

Minolta x-700

Can you trip the shutter?
If the shutter does not release, usually the camera repair shops would replace the shutter release capacitors.

I have a Minolta X-370 camera that will not advance the film. Lever seems to be frozen.

The shutter is already wound and the shutter is not releasing.
You may have bad shutter release capacitors if the batteries are good.

I have a minolta x-300 and the shutter won't release when I took a long exposure with the 'b' setting, is there a way to reset the shutter?

'B' settings and other long exposure settings on electronically controlled shutters are always the death knell for a nearly exhausted battery. The X-300 is totally reliant on batteries to power the shutter and so the shutter lock-up is cured simply by replacing the batteries with fresh ones. For consistently accurate exposures use two silver oxide SR44 cells instead of cheaper lithium alkaline LR44 cells which have an unstable voltage.

Don't leave it too long though as the shutter can stick if left this way for too long.

A pdf manual for your camera is at the following address:-

Shutter will not close back to starting position with each shot

cablechick25,

do you mean the shutter doesn't close all the way? put select on B , gently push shutter to the left to fully close the shutter. charge shutter and fire it a few times, it should free itself after a few shots.
any mechanical device needs a periodic clean, lube & adjust, ( CLA ), after not being used for 5 years your X350 just needs that. take it or send to a camera repair shop for an estimate first. there are no new parts available for this model minolta.

Shutter stopped working

If the metering lights go out when you press the shutter release fully down, then the camera needs the shutter capacitors replaced. If they stay on, it could be the release magnets on the shutter unit itself, or worse.

Shutter blades out on Minolta Maxxum 7000

It is possible to fit them back since they are flexible. It does require a gentle touch, with a lot of patience. I use angled tweezers for this task.

Replacement parts are no longer available. Used cameras can be found on ebay and the like.
