Question about SanDisk Sansa c150 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Space issue My sansa c150 i recently formatted to get rid of all of the starter songs, but for some reason when i formatted it i only have 90ish megabytes leftover with nothing on it. When i take it into WMP it says 0/1.86GB (96.36MB free) which also doesn't make any sense because how can it have 0/1.86GB and only 96.36 MB free I have looked for solutions and all have failed. can anyone help?

what if the media, music folder does not exist???

  • Anonymous Mar 10, 2009

I have starting sample songs that came with my SanDisk Sansa c150 2gb mp3 player, and I want to get rid of those tracks (which I can only do that by connecting it with my computer). But when I connect it to the computer, non of my mp3 player's files are where the music is, so for now, I can't get rid of my sample tracks or put new ones on, and the company I bought the mp3 player from is stupid enough to not include any real instructions for what I'mtrying to do.

To delete songs from your device follow the steps below
You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there.
Either under sync panel in your windows media player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete.
To format it..on your device..go under..menu, setting and there should be a format option option there..let me know if that doenst work for you...
Hope this helps

Sansa C150 No Space for DB. Please free more than 4.0 MB

are you able to format the player while in msc mode?

right-click on it while in my computer and select the format option, make sure your selecting your mp3 as this will delete all the files off the device. It if says failed to format, try doing it thorugh disk management. To get there you can right-click on my computer and select manage from the drop down menu. From here you will see disk management on the left hand side. Then a larger rectangular box with the drive letter that represents your player, you can right click on this and select format.

Or just try a different computer, if its the same everywhere then youll probably have to end up emailing sandisk, stating everything you tried. They will probably ask you to do a couple more things, but if you keep at it, youll end up with an RMA*.

Check the used space on the device. (Right-click the drive letter in 'My Computer' and select properties). The e130 has 512MB of internal memory and you will be able to compare the amount of used space listed here against the amount listed when you view the songs in a folder. If it's different, try right-clicking the drive letter again and 'format'. This will erase all data on the device, allowing for a fresh start.

Delete demo files on Sandisk c150?

The demo songs still don't show up when I select "Show hidden files/folders". I had go to Menu->Settings->Format, and proceed with formatting it to get the demo songs off my Sansa c240 (This will delete all songs/files).

"formatting problem"

I had a similar problem, I could upload songs, but they wouldn't play and I couldn't delete them. turned out it was cause I didn't have WMP10 installed on my PC, had an older version. the user manual states it only works with WMP10, and after I installed it (just search for windows media player 10 on the microsoft website) I was able to use the synch function in WMP10 and all the songs are playable (I'm listening to an album as I type :D)
