not sure what half screen you are referring to

click start control panel display desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list

also settings you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal size, larger size or custom settings
always click APPLY after making any changes

on the top of the internet page you should see some tabs file edit view favourites tools and help click on the view tab on the drop down list you should see a zoom size %

click a different percentage also a text size you might try a different text size although this will not increase the size of the page only the text fonts inside it

if you do not see these tabs in the top toolbar

right click in the top toolbar you will see a number of toolbars and options select the menu tab this will add at it to the toolbar

or if its actually half of the screen

you will need to connect to another monitor or your television to your computer with the vga lead monitor connection

click start control panel display change display settings adjust resolution this may vary depending on your operating system

you should see a no 1 and a no 2 with detect and identify keep an eye on the screen when you select the number tabs this may vary depending on your operating system

when you select the no 2 tab this should be the extended desktop always click apply after making any changes

or click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to monitors right click select scan for hardware changes

if you can get an extended desktop your monitor is faulty

if you cant get an exended desktop

hope it helps

To widen border on Toshiba lap top

Wide screen monitor distortionDepending upon the screen resolution that has been set inDisplay, the image will be distorted on these large wide screen monitors.
Create a large circle image using a draw program such as Paint (hold down theShift key as you create the circle as it will draw a perfect circle).
Open Control Panel - Display - Settings tab and adjust the Screen resolutionslider, increase or decrease the screen resolution then bring the circle imageto the front and check the image, if the circle is still distorted then changethe screen resolution and check the circle again until you are satisfied withthe image of the circle. When you are satisfied then click apply. If you cannot change the screen resolution then most likely the incorrect video driver has been installed.

Windows XP text size is too small. How do I make it largerr?

Click on your Desktop with the right mouse button and select Properties from the Shortcut menu that appears. In the Properties window, click on the Appearance tab. At the bottom of the Appearance tab you will see "Font size:" click on that drop-down menu and you can select Normal, Large Fonts, or Extra-Large Fonts. This is how you change the size of the text that is specific to Windows.
To change the size of the text in Internet Explorer, open up Internet Explorer and find the View menu (it should be near the top left of the screen) click on View and in the menu that pops down, hover your mouse over Text Size so the menu will pop out to the right, here you can select Smallest, Smaller, Normal, Large, Larger, and Largest.
If you would like to increase the size of everything in Internet Explorer, you can hover over Zoom in the View pop down menu and change how much you are zoomed in, this will increase everything for you!

I hope this helps! If not, please comment back and let us know!

I have been trying to increase the print size one my computer for some time can you help me?

Right click on the desktop, SCREEN RESOLUTION, lowering the resolution will increase the text size. You can also check VIEW on that menu and select large icons.

Text size is the inverse of screen resolution.

Recently, my cable provider sent a tech to check out my internet service. While he was on the computer, he INCREASED the size of my screen. I didn't realize the screen had enlarged until my husband got on...

mcdevito75 here, It sound like the first tech. simply increased the zoom on your Monitor screen for his eay viewing and failed to restore it for you. Here"s how, on your screen in the lower right hand corner you should see 100% or 75%, this is the zoom, left clicl on the number and then check 100% ------ or even easier, left click on View at the top of your screen, then click zoom, now check the 100%. you can also check at View, the text size, this is the size of the letters on your screen. click on text size for large or larger or small. Hope this helps.

My computer often shows low virtual memory how can i fix it?

You should add more memory, remove the amount of programs that are set in the startup folder, and increase your Virtual memory Paging File size.
  • Select ‘Start’
  • Click on ‘Control Panel’’
  • Depending on your setting, you’ll see one of two Control Panel views, Category and Classic. Category View will have four Categories to choose from, Classic View will just show a bunch of icons.
  • In the Category View click on ‘Performance and Maintenance’ then select ‘’System’.
  • In the Classic View, just select ‘System’.
  • In the System window, click on the ‘Advanced’ tab at the top.
  • The first option in the Advanced screen is ‘Performance’. Click on the ‘Settings’ button.
  • Click on the middle tab called ‘Advanced’
  • At the bottom of that window you’ll see Virtual Memory. In that area you’ll see what your computer’s VM is set to. Just below it, click the ‘Change’ button.
  • Here, you’ll see your drives at the top, as well as the size of the Paging File. Below that are three buttons. Custom Size, System Managed Size and No Paging File.
  • If you want the easiest solution to a low VM issue, select ‘System Managed Size’, and click the ‘Set’ button in the right of it. Windows will change the size of the Paging File to what it feels is best to prevent RAM issues. If you’re a tweaker who wants more control over your computer, you can also select Custom size, and enter 2.5 times you actual RAM size. If you had 128MB, you’d type in 320 for both the Initial Size and the Maximum size. Again Click the ‘Set’ button to save the change.
  • If you are making these changes to perform a clean defragmentation of your computer, select No Paging File and click the ‘Set’ button.
  • Regardless of which option you chose, click OK and your computer will tell you that the computer needs to restart to make the changes.
  • Before closing the System Properties window, click Apply to make your changes stick, then Ok. Now you can restart your computer.
  • After you computer has restarted, your new VM settings will be active, just don’t forget to turn VM back on when you are done defragmenting.
It’s important to leave VM on, though. No matter how much RAM you have, there’s always the chance you’ll run out.

How to increase the size of the print? Print is too small

Right click on web page, choose select-all. Right click again click print preview, goto top tool bar and click full view (mouse over icon), then choose Custom from the Change Print Size drop-down menu. Specify how large you would like the webpage to be printed by setting a percentage in the Custom Size text box. This will enlarge the printed size of the entire webpage, but it might result in some of the webpage being cut off on the printed document. Usually you have more than one page to print. This is one way, maybe someone else can give a better way. Good luck.

Change font size

Two things you can try!

1.From your Browser you can change text size in the browser.
I am using Internet Explorer for this example
Click on View from the top tool bar, Select Text Size.. you can increase and decrease the text size of a web page.

2.Before you print check Print Preview and Increse the page size.
My Browser defualt to Shrink to Fit,
I can change that to 120% and it will print the page very large.

Most programs in Windows will offer a Print Preivew
there you can make adjustments, and this can also be accomplished with Page Set Up..

Hope this Helps
