Question about Dryers

Open Question

I have a Salton Hotable model H-958-W Series S and I've lost the power cord. It needs a two-pronged female end that fits in a recessed receptacle. The pins, which are round, appear to be 9/16 center to center rather than the common 1/2 centers. Do you know where I could find, if not a direct replacement, at least something that would be likely to fit the pins that I might be able modify to fit into the recessed receptacle?

SOURCE: 3 prong to 4 prong cord

the bare wires are not a good thing when it comes to electric, you should either remove the plug and restrip the wires to fit or consult a pro to do this for you

If you're out of warranty there are third party gps repair services that take care of this problem. There are also gps repair tutorials if you're so inclined.

Where is the power source? Monitor came with no cord and cannot locate the power source input.

On the back of the monitor you should find three prongs that plug onto the female end of the power cord. The monitor power cord will look the same as your computer cord.

I have a Salton Hotray food warmer, Model H-132, Series J, 475 watts, that needs a replacement power cord. Any ideas where I can get one?

Try to find an old TV "cheater cord" from that era. It works perfectly AFTER you shave down the plastic "ears" on either side of the prongs.

Generator plugs doesn't match cord

Hey steve. do you really need 240 volts for 120 v. circuits. the reason you have to have an adaptor plug is because on your 220 volt plug in , 2 of tthose prongs are hot and 1 is ground. for safety you need to get a plug adapter ( a regular 120 volt plug end ) run a ground from adapter to ground on 220 adapter. same with nuetral. you also need to ground your generator. there is usaully a ground lug on the bottom of the gen. Another way. if you dont really need 220 v. is to use both 120v. recepticals on gen. Run 2 chords to tranf. switch. and hard wire it in to switch. another way i did mine . when i lost power in this hurricane. i ran two # 10 chords from my 2 120v. recept on my gen to my breaker panel. when you do this you have to pull the service meter, if you dont when power comes back on it would backfeed through your gen.then i turn all my 220v. breakers i was able to run lights ,ciling fans, freezer, ice box, washing machine and gas dryer , tv's computors etc. . but to do this, you probably need someone that knows what they are doin.
