Try this.
I did not know that you could reset the AC brick by unplugging it from both the wii and the wall outlet for 90 seconds.
or send it to nintendo for repairs.

Wii won't turn on

Wii Console Won't Turn On, and Has No Power Light Situation:
  • The Wii console won't power on, and the Power LED is unlit
  • The console powers on, but shuts off after a few seconds/minutes
  • Attaching an accessory to the console turns the power off

Information:
This issue can be caused by an accessory or power surge tripping the circuit breaker on the AC Adapter.

What To Do:
  • Check any accessories attached directly to the console to make sure that it is licensed and undamaged. Unlicensed or damaged accessories shouldn't be used with the console.

  • Try using a different wall outlet, or plug a different device into the outlet to make sure the outlet is providing power.

  • Perform an AC Adapter Reset. (How To)

Situation Not Resolved:
If the system still won't power on, the system and AC adapter will need to be repaired. To start the repair process, click here.
Wii Console Turns On, But Has No Power Light Situation:
  • The power LED on the system does not come on, but the system still powers on and plays

Information:
If the Wii Console is still working normally, it is likely that the power LED is broken.
This issue will remain limited to the Power LED, and will not get any worse.
Unless the system is having other problems, continue using the console regularly for a few weeks to determine whether this interferes with the enjoyment of game play.

Situation Not Resolved:
If, after using the system for awhile, the Power LED not coming on is too distracting, the Wii Console does carry a one-year warranty.
We are happy to inspect and, if necessary, fix the system at no charge within the warranty period. To start the repair process, click here.

Wii has no power whatsoever going in

The button has to be pressed until you see the light come on try using the wimote power button on the upper left corner hold it until you see the light if its yellow its in standby if its green its on you should see the disk entry area turn blue a sec when it comes on. Then it should be green on the power light if no lights in just a couple or 3 seconds holding it down you may have 2 bad wii's in a row. If you take it back ask them if they have a test model on the floor and tell them to show you exactly how it works to power on and off.

I'm getting error code 51030

Hello Carole,

"Power cycle" your router and modem. To do this, unplug both the modem and the router from the power outlet. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then plug in the router. Try to connect the Wii online and test for proper response.

If that doesn't work, erase your old connection settings on the Wii and set up a new one, as your router's settings may have changed since you last connected.

If that still won't work, reset your router so it will go back to factory settings. To do that, look for the reset button locatd at the back of your router. Use a pin to press and hold it for 10 seconds.

My wii remote wont work !!!!!!! I turned on my wii and it said to push A on your wii remote and I did and the four little light things just blink and shut off !!! What do I do ?

1. Take the battery cover off from the back of the wiimote. Look for a little red button. 2. On the front of the nintendo wii console open the little door that covers the SD slots. Look for another red button.3. Press both red buttons, it does not have to be at the exact same time, but within about 2-3 seconds.

We can't get our wii to turn on. Our electricity went out this morning for just a second, but the wii was not on. But, now it won't come on at all.

Try a diffrent outlet or check your Breaker box and see if the breaker got fliped.

If that dosn't work make sure all the wires in the back of the console are plugged into a working electric socket on the wall. If it's still not working, contact Nintendo Hardware Issues Department and they'll be sure to send you a new one (although it may take up to a couple weeks).

Wii will not power on

The light on our Wii would not turn ON, and would not power up. No red, no yellow, nothing.

To fix, we unplug the Wii console. We turn the WIi console so that the back-side fan area is pointing towards the ceiling and then vacuum the fan area. Then we place it back into the Wii stand, plug it in, and the red light comes on. It powers up and works perfectly again. Obviously this won't solve everyone's issues (i.e. electronic component failures), but it has worked several times for us. Definitely worth a shot before shipping your unit off for repair.

I think the fan gets clogged and WIi protects itself from overheating, but do not really know why this works... but it does!

Does Nintendo Wii work abroad?

Hey Erolon,

Nintendo Wii's sold within the United States will primarily be NTSC-formatted devices. Unfortunately, because Europe utilizes the PAL format instead of NTSC, you would need to have an NTSC-compliant TV in order to use a Wii purchased within the U.S.

Please also keep in mind that video games are often region-coded to work only with the consoles sold in the same area of the world. In other words...if you were to purchase a Wii within the U.S., you would only be able to play video games purchased within the U.S. as well.

Additionally, remember that the United States and Europe use different electrical standards: 110V/60Hz for the U.S. and 220V/50Hz for Europe. In order for any electrical device purchased within the U.S. to function properly overseas, a voltage adaptor may be required.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
