Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

1 Answer

Freezing Randomly My pearl for some reason is really really slow. No matter what I am doing and it randomly freezes in the middle of whatever I am trying to do. I have to take the battery out just to get it off the screen and it takes about 3-4 minutes to come back on. Is this a reaccuring incident with the phone?

I have the exact same problem my hourglass pops up every few seconds and takes a while just to display the menu or a message; it also freezes on me and I too am forced to take out the battery and wait a few minutes for it to reboot; my battery dies and I charge it constantly!...(I don't even have to use it and the battery either dies or dies down)

I have deleted all of my pics and songs, entered a memory card, and turned off my bluetooth! What do I do?!? =(

I am having a very similar problem. My blackberry pearl 8100 takes FOREVER to write a text message, but when I'm writing instant messages or using a browser it's fast. I've deleted all the unnecessary applications etc to get my file available up to about 15000000 bytes. It's faster for me to text people via AIM than it is my SMS or MMS messages. Any ideas? Ps I have also tried emptying the caches, hard resets, etc.

Yes it is, especially if you have a lot of programs installed in the phone. It will mostly freeze when you are using the web or a program that uses alot of memory.

Check the battery if it oddly shaped or swollen or you probably installed an app. lik Google maps etc. or you hav updated your software you need to del. the app./apps. and reload the old software as the new sofrtwear is ment for the 2nd gen. or "newer" BB's.

I think i got my blackberry wet and the keyboard isnt working properly. It randomly sends text meassages without me telling it to.

For the keyboard not working please visit a hardware service center. For the meassages sent randomly without telling, first you need to take a back up of the critical data on the hand set and do a wipe handheld and then restore only the address book and check if it is sending the messages randomly if so then reinstalll the OS.

Random deleting

This means that you have too much memory in your phone, so it automatically makes its own memory. To fix this you need to delete some of your pictures and ringtones to add memory. I used to have this problem too! Hope this helps!

Vibrates and sounds for no reason

Check to see if you have enabled notifiers for coming in and out of cellular coverage, data coverage, bluetooth, etc. I disabled these notifications.

Otherwise try switching the ringing profiles and see if it continues. If it stops after switching profiles, then you know it is something in your selected ring profile.

If it continues, try resetting the device. I would recomend downloading the Blackberry Desktop software to backup your phone. After resetting the phone, see if it vibs and rings randomly (note: no not restore the backup yet).

If it still does, try to update the Blackberry OS software on the phone from the same place you downloaded the BB Desktop software or your cell provider. If it stops, then restore your backed up data. If it starts up again, then it's a setting in your old config.

These are some of the things the cellular provider would do. Hope this helps!

i dont have a blackjack but this happened on my blackberry 8800. i just deleted a bunch of old text messages and it started working fine. i guess it was running out of memory and that was causing it to run slow.

Blackberry Keeps Freezing Up

It is not supposed to occur in a Normal Phone. You should try formatting the Phone (Don't forget to make a Back-Up Copy of the Data in your Phone before).
