    Do you have dash lights?

  • Anonymous Mar 23, 2014

When car is off, dash and tail lights will turn on randomly. Occasionally the tail lights will flicker. Happens after car has been off for a while

Brake lights and turn signals are diffrent circuits. Take a long jumper wire and attach it to one of your parking lights that you can get to with easy access. Attach it to the positive wire. If you attach it to the negative it will spark. Once attached to the positive, trun on your park lights and see if all including dash lights come on. If this is helpful, please post as such. TY

Well, I just found my problem. I had a trailer hitch light that was somehow shorting the circuit. So everytime I placed a good fuse in the ext fuse slot, it blew it. I unplugged it, the trailer hitch light, and put in a good fuse, and presto! fixed.

2005 kia sedona dash board gauge lights wont turn on

Is it only the gauges or the all the instruments and heater controls? The first place I'd look at will be the dimmer switch. Normally the instrument lighting shares the same circuit as the parking/valet lights.

A service manual will provide a series of tests that may help troubleshooting steps. But, since this sounds intermittent then it may be a connection problem. Try a visual inspection looking for loose connections.

Park, Tail and Marker Lamps
The park, tail and marker lamps, including the license lamps, are turned ON when the headlamp switch is placed in either the PARK or HEADLAMP position, or anytime the headlights are requested. The PARK LP fuse in the underhood accessory wiring junction block. When the headlamp switch is placed in the PARK position, battery positive voltage is applied to the park lamp circuit. The parklamp circuit then applies battery positive voltage to the DRL control module and to all the marker, park and tail lamps. The front park lamps are grounded at G101. The rear park lamps are grounded at G302. The license plate lamps are a part of the rear park lamp circuit and are grounded at G302 The inadvertent power control feature prevents the park lights from remaining on more than 10 minutes if left ON. If the park lights are turned ON after the ignition switch has been turned OFF, or is in the ACCY position, they will remain ON until turned OFF or the battery runs dead.

Chime turns/remains on when turning steering wheel to left.

You will need to check the brake fluid level. I had the same problem and it drove me crazy for a while. I believe this occurs because of where the sensor is located, as you turn, the fluid will shift to the opposite side causing the sensor to think that it is low in brake fluid. Solution: Just top off.

I have no tail lights on my 2003 Kia Sedona.

I'm afraid to say it is most likely the circuit board shorting out
but may be trace the earth point to the chassis. It's often a bad ground that causes faults.
After this - check bulbs and finally the cable run back to the switch.
