Have sound but no picture

I have a Mitsubishi VS-4544 45" TV, love it when it's working. About once a month or two, the tv's picture goes out while you're watching it, but has sound. Last two times left tv off for a day and picture came on. I have a bad habit of leaving tv on 24/7, I know that something gets hot in there. Was told to soder video power supply. Not sure if this is the problem? I'm looking for service manual and/or schematics, or better yet "HOW TO" fix this problem. Can someone PLEASSSSSE help me?

Try to download the repair manual to your set from internet. It sounds that you have to get into its service mode adjustments. All details are in the repair manual.

when picture is getting smaller in size or goes away or moves towards one side then hit your TV lightly on left side or right side or on top & then observe will get normal picture or it comes & again it goes....if it is happening like that then following is the situation..........after 4 or 5 yrs in some TVs on main board at some soldering joints crack develops....then due to loose contact picture becomes small in size or disappears ...........when we hit that lightly then those loose contacts joins temporarly & again picture appears for some solution is ......TV main board should be observed carefully & most of the joints should be re-soldered.......only a good service engineer can do that........even after hitting TV lightly if there is no response then main board has to be checked your case iam sure it is loose connection problem.........joints should be re - soldered ...100% it works again................this problem cannot be solved by user unless user has idea about components( resisitors, transisitors, diodes,...etc) , have soldering iron , multimeter & other contact good TV service engineer

Mitsubichi VS 45609. When I turn the TV on sometimes it comes on and has beautiful picture and sound. Then after 1/2 or so it goes to a black screen. While on the black screen I am able to PIP it and see...

I have the same TV and what is happing is the TV has 2 recievers in it to allow the PIP, So you have a power pack gone on 1 reciever the other is working, Your set has 2 power packs,1 for each receiver.
I had both of mine go, 150$ a piece to have fixed, good luck.

No picture

Try a "hard restart"', which simply means unplugging the power cord of your TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique helps to reprogram the electronics of your TV.
Hope this suggestion works for you.

Mitsubishi VS 4543, Picture go out after a few minutes

I usually find that symptom you describe is caused by cracked solder joints on the power regulators or vertical output IC. I have also seen that symptom caused by loose solder joints on the vertical windings up inside one of the yokes. If you have experience in repairing TV's then you can disassemble the set and pull the main chassis, flip it over and resolder all of the parts mounted on heat sinks. If you do not have experience in repairing projection TV's then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.

Mitsubishi black diamond tv

Might be a bad CRT or bad video output IC that drives the CRT that would cause this issue.
