MY STAND ALONE FREEZER HAD A FUNNY SMELL COMING FROM IT.

SEVERAL DAYS AGO, MY STAND ALONE FRIGIDAIRE ELECTROLUX FREEZER MODEL FFCO7KOCWO HAD A FUNNY SMELL COMING FROM IT. IT IS LOCATED ON THE ENCLOSED BACK PORCH/SEASONAL ROOM OF MY HOUSE. I WAS WONDERING IF THE SMELL COULD BE HARMFUL. IT WAS PRETTY STRONG IN THAT ROOM. SINCE THEN, THE ICE HAS MELTED AND I WAS GOING TO CLEAN IT OUT AND PLUG IT BACK IN AGAIN. DO YOU THINK IT IS SAFE? IF IT IS A BAD PART, ANY IDEA OF WHAT PART IT MIGHT BE THAT COULD CAUSE THAT SMELL? OH, AND THE SMELL WAS KIND OF LIKE A CHEMICAL, BURNING PLASTIC???

SOURCE: Ice and Refrigerator and Freezer smell like alcohol chemical

All items stored in the refrigerator and freezer should be stored in sealed packaging. Frost free refrigerator operate with a very low humidity and will pick up odors from products. Somewhat of an ozone smell will be in some frozen foods. This is a normal condition. Deodorizing packs are available on the market to absorb odors. Baking soda does the job in most cases.

SOURCE: Freezer vents are building up ice.

A couple of things can cause this problem. One is that your defrost temp sensor is ot functioning correctly and terminating the defrost cycle early allowing ice build up to occur over time. The other thing could be that you have a torrn or loose door seal on either your freezer or your food section door. The thrird possibility is that you deftost timer is intermittent and only working part of the time or is clocking forward at a very slow rate. You can unplug the unit again and place a fan blowing into the freezer section for about 2 hours but we both know this is only a temporary situation and that you should have your unit serviced. I would call for that service either before you defrost it or 2 weeks after you defrost it.

Is there a reset button on frigidaire dishwasher model fdb710lcb0

Mate im in Australia and don't know if the Frigidaite is the same as the Electrolux/Westinghouse but you can try this I posted a day ago:
On the Westinghouse and Electrolux dishwashers to reset a program that it defaults too you start the program and once initialised then press and hold the program button for about 3-5 secs. The panel will beep and all the lights will come on and not flash. From there on using the program button you select the wash cycle you want

Frigidaire Electrolux side by side fan not working

If teh fan had burnt out then there is every possibility that your contactor, the timer, the compressor must be checked. Replace the fan as you had confirmed and put the set on. If the compressor works and the cooling comes on fine then there is nothing to worry. But if you notice any smell or a different noise then shut off and open the back side to check from the contactor onwards to the compressor. However if the compressor works well then you are lucky . hope you get along to do this. Good day

Foul odor from front load washing machine

Front loaders are known for building up mold and the smell.
It’s caused by using liquid detergent which is made from animal fat. Use powder. And use the minimum amount.
It’s caused by using fabric softener. Dilute it 50/50 with water.
It’s caused by the water remaining in the tub between washes. Leave the door open to allow it to dry. .
Pull the rubber door seal back and clean the mold off .

Frigidaire/electrolux frostfree stand up freezer occasionally seems to completely stop working. Even semi defrosts and leaves some water on floor. after a while it starts up again. Is there a problem here?...

I've had the same problem with my Frigidaire/electrolux frostfree stand up freezer. It's a major downer to go into your freezer to find all of your frozen foods (much of it expensive meat) - defrosted, some or all of it ..ruined. I sometimes wonder how many times it may have stopped working without us knowing, (since we sometimes go days without needing to open it) and just how creepy some of the meat that I am serving my family might be.
On top of destroyed groceries, the cows and chickens lives lost in vain - (aka wasted meat - I'm sensitive to that as the vegetarian in the family), it gets extremely hot on the outside when this occurs. It gets so hot, that we're actually worrying about a fire. It's almost like it is periodically overheating and going into an auto-shut down mode.
Needless to say, we are not "digging" our Frigidaire/electrolux frostfree stand up freezer.....
We are considering ditching it and buying some other model - refurbished. This just stinks... is disappointing... we paid a ton.. and now it's headed for a landfill.... (really?) JUST LOUSY!
Would LOVE a solution.... would love to know of others with this problem...

A funny smell and i think it might be the temperature

Adjust the knob to 3 or 4 which would be the midway temperature.

0 would probably be off or close to it. The 7 would be coldest and freeze water.

If this is manual defrost you need to turn it off and defrost it. The frost will keep it from getting cold enough. The buildup is normal from humid warm air when opening the door. You might get a standalone fridge / freezer thermometer (about $5) to tell you what temperature is. The smell may be food spoiling from warm temperature.

I have a bad smell and taste in water and ice from fridge/freezer

Take out all shelves and accessories that can be removed. Wash these thoroughly with a mild detergent (dish washing liquid and warm water) and rinse thoroughly. Allow them to air dry completely.
* Wipe the inside walls of the refrigerator and freezer down completely with a solution of 1 quart warm water and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Wipe the walls completely dry.
* Leave the doors standing wide open. Use a fan to circulate air through the cabinets for several hours to completely dry the inside walls. After several hours, turn the fan off.
* Replace the shelves in the refrigerator. Place shallow trays of one of the following deodorizers on the shelves of the refrigerator and freezer:
o Baking soda
o Activated carbon (used in aquarium filters, can be obtained at a pet store)
o Cat litter
o Fresh and unused coffee grounds (this may leave a coffee smell that would dissipate after several days)
* After 24 hours, plug in the refrigerator and allow it to cool for several hours with the deodorizer still in place. Once cooled to normal operating temperature, remove the trays of deodorizer and put your food back into the refrigerator and freezer.
* Keep some cereal size bowls of a deodorizer in the freezer and refrigerator cabinets for several days
