This sounds like an electrical problem in the speaker circuitry - between the speaker(s) and the control knob.

SOURCE: ive got creative inspire T7900 7.1 speaker system

Is this connecting to a sound blaster audigy 2 zs or xfi soundcard? or a motherboard onboard soundcard/ aftermarket Other than creative?

If connected to the creative card odds are the wire is bad. get a new one

If connected to a generic the wires for the speakers are proprietary and you have to go get 3.5 to 3.5 stereo cables to hook it up

ODDS are slim without a connecting unit best bet to accomplish this is to get the dds-100 by creative good luck though as this item is discontinued and expensive even still to date. you will need osmething to decode the signal from the tv. a receiver with any surround capabilities will also work

SOURCE: Hello,

robert_cobb

Creative used to sell the replacement volume controls on there site but I guess they stopped selling them.

So what I would do is select your product at http://support.creative.com/

Then click on Contact Us

Next click on My problem is not listed

This will get you to email support. Send them an email stating that you need a replacement volume control and powersupply. They will ether refer you to Customer Service or to the RMA department to get a replacement.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

T7900 side speakers not working

Once you have installed the drivers for your sound card you will need to do the following.

Click start menu > Control Panel > Sound.

In there select the speaker tab by left clicking on it once.

At the bottom left hand of the window there will be a button that says configure.
In there you will have a series of options in which you can change the speaker configuration for your speaker setup.

The above instructions are assuming you are using windows 7 as you haven't told us what operating system you use.

Got t7900`

Hi,

I have had that problem with a T7700/T7900 speaker system.

Disconnect the remote control from the subwoofer. Then what you need to do is unscrew the remote volume/bass control unit (4 little screws). Swab the contacts on the volume dial with a cotton bud (q tip) denaturated alcohol or even perfume will work. Make sure you do it several times until all the slight dirt that is causing the volume fluctuation/spikes to happen. Also remove any remnants of cotton that might get stuck. Now you'll have it working as new as long do not cause any other damage to the unit.

Cheers,
Daniel
