Why would you want to replace wireless unless faulty..you can reflash it you can change drivers for it you can change the mac.
if it is faulty you would be better to get usb wireless for the price and convenience.

Go to that link, read the PCI removal instructions.

Its under a small panel that has one screw holding it in. its the bigger of the two.

That usually applies to desktops with an add-on car, because laptops have integrated video chips.

Dell inspiron 5160 is dim.

This problem can also be due to the corruption of display drivers// assuming that you have checked the contrast and brightness do this step:- goto device manager// click on the display adaptar + sign and on the pop-up driver right click and select uninstall//
once the driver is uninstalled then restart the computer and check//
if that doesnot work then you can also upgrage the grafic card by going to the web site// even if this doesnot work then 100% the problem is with the notebook screen// contact best buy or wallmart or the retail store from where you have bought the notebook//

My video card is shot on dell 5160 do i have to replace mother bo

If you go to Dell there is a 99% chance that they WILL want to just replace the motherboard. This has forced many people to switch to Desktops and MANY people have switched completely from dell because of this problem. I would look into it a little more and find out for sure, and maybe call Dell.

Hope this helps ^^. Please don't forget to rate, Thanks

How do i turn on wireless on dell inspiron 5160 I just installed Windows XP 3 Pro and cannot get my wireless adapter to work. Help please!?

Have you tried to reinstall the wireless card drivers? Sometimes when the install updates you need to update your hardware drivers to keep things running smoothly.

Wirless wont connect

Try going here for any manuals or driver downloads you may need. try re-installing the drivers before condeming the wireless card.

If you decide you want to replace it, you will need to first remove the MINI PCI adapter cover from beneith the laptop.

Inside you will probably see a small chip with a wire connected. That is the regular telephone modem for dial up.

The second, bigger one is the wireless card. It should have two metal spring locks on the sides , depress these and it should pop up slightly. then just pull and it should come right out.

getting another just like it may be hard, try ordering one from dell or going to a computer store with knowledgable people and see if they can get you one.

Let me know if you need anything else or have any questions.

Integrated 10/100 nic card problems

The card has developed a loose connector, it's just worn, it happens and is fairly common with these, and there nothing you can do about it, other than replace the card, and yes you can replace it with a 10/100 wireless/combo. Just remember to uninstall the drivers for the old card prior to installing the new card in order to keep from having a conflict. That is, if there are drivers, a majority of these cards are plug and play. With the wireless/combo there will be drivers.
