Cpu casing? What is that? To test the power supply, just use a paper clip in the ATX connector on the green wire, and the black wire next to it. Make sure everything that is hooked up to the power plugs, is unplugged. That should tell you if its the power supply.

MSI mobo powers up, but no signal to monitor.

i hate to tell you this but it seems your pci or in your case agp exp.slot is most likely melfunctioning if your card works on another computer then that may be your problem one thing you can try is take the mobo out and let it sit for a few days or call msi them selves and they may replace it for you for free they are good about that i have the k8n neo4 with a 7950 1g pci.e with same problem and thats my pci e not working

Replace motherboard

There is no need to get an exact replacement motherboard, most likely it is out of production if it is more than 6 months old.
The desktop case has and motherboards have standard configuration mounting holes. I sugest you work out what your computing requirements are and go to your friendly computer shop and purchase a motherboard.
Most of the existing components will be compatible but the RAM and CPU may not, you need to check this out.

Fan does not come on mobo & Fan on video card making a noise

There are many sensitive parts inside your CPU that can be destroyed by simply opening your box/chassis.
*If you are not confident that you can safely open the casing, then you should seek assistance from a qualified technician.

Remove the power cables before proceeding!

The first step in checking to see if your CPU fan is working is to remove the case cover, normally secured with screws at the back.
Most common chassis covers will slide out after the screws are removed.
*Make sure that you maintain contact with the metal part of the chassis to avoid causing ESD damage to your CPU/internals.

Next step, re-attach the power cable and avoid touching the metal chassis this time (there is a risk of shock) before you power on. You should see the fan moving at this point, if it is still working.

Fan not moving? You can take that small paint brush and very carefully run the brush along the fan blades to clear them of dust bunnies. This could also get your fan to run again. It is an immediate solution, but not long term.

It is more adviseable to replace the fan if it siezes or stops working.

Hope this helps.

1long 2 short beeps, No POST/Visual display

Hi there
One Long and Two Short Beeps = Video (Mono/CGA Display Circuitry) issue.
If you are using a PCI Express graphics card remove it and use the on-board VGA/DVI port
If it is the on-board graphics you are using clear the cmos
d015d7b.jpg<<<<< you will see in the picture a plastic jumper (in this case coloured green), move it to the other position and hit the on/off button, then put it back in its original position and power up the machine again. Hopefully the issue will have been sorted.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

K8N Neo4 and Vista

It usually means that there is a piece of hardware or a program that it is having trouble closing. Try defragging the drive some times that can help things quite a bit. Also make sure you have the latest drivers fro all your hardware.
