Question about Insignia I-LC23Q1 23 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

2 Answers

Hello. I am contaqcting you for my mother. My brothers recently purchased and insignia 26" LCD NS.LCD26. I have run it through the auto scan program, and she receives the digital channel 18-1 but on channel 13 and channel 8, she does not get the digital station. I tried to manually add them, and get no signal. Do you have any suggestions?

No, I am using an outdoor antenna. and I did check the mode, and it is on the air mode, not cable mode.

Some of the channels come in, but there should be at least five channels and she only gets two.

i didn't mean to rate you low. you tried. yes, i had checked all the connections, made sure the antenna cable is in the correct place. it is just kinda wierd, because as i said, two of the digital channels come in, but the one that doesn't is actuall physically closer than any of the other channels.

i have the converter box, myself, and get everything that i am supposed to. she is not on the converter box, she has the digital built in on her tv. one other thing that might help, her neighbor, is having the same problem. i am guessing maybe it is the signal strength. but when i view my mom's signal strength, it is about 85. could that be the problem, and is there anything we can do about it?

You could try a signal booter, sometimes they help. If you still do not get all your channels the tuner may be defective. They work in bands and may get some channels but not others. Low band, mid and high..

Are you useing rabbit ears? If so you may have to switch to an outdoor antenna to get those channels ( the digital signel is a better picture but the signel is not as wide as an analog signel so in most cases you will need an outdoor antenna!)
Also make sure your tv is in the antenna mode and not the cable mode!

My Insignia TV model: ns-lcd26-09 starts flickering intermittently for a while after watching, quits after 20 minutes, then starts again.

Definitely sounds like a bad power supply. Especially if it's making any buzzing/hissing noises while it's flickering.
All Insignia products carry a two year manufactures warranty, which Best Buy will gladly service for you. If you're out of warranty, here is a link to a replacement part:

Hello,
I am wondering if this happens with every source input. Please compare the Video, YUV, and Ant inputs. This will tell you if the issue is related to a specific curcuit.

I have an insignia NS-32LCD and it will not turn on

Capacitors are probably bulged in the power supply. Need replaced, not expensive.

I have a Insignia NS-LCD26-09 that the backlight appears to have failed. I can see the display but is very dark. One day it worked and the next day it did not. Is it worth fixing?

Check eBay for a new backlight bulb. If you are willing to do the work to replace it, it is up to you how much it is worth. (I am poor so would fix it myself)

Not getting signal for some of the channels in the area.

What is the source of your signal? ie cable, sat, or antenna?
If it is rabbit ears or antenna you may not have a strong enough signal.. With digital you have to have a preaty strong signal or it will come back with "weak signal or channel not found" You could try a signal booster.
