Kegerator is shocking me

Ive got a kegerater its a older unit. only has the 2 prung plug. (no ground) now when i plug it in i get a slight jolt when i touch the tower/metal.
however the prior owner had a ground wire attached to the side then ran it to the socket. in my upstairs my outlet is not grounded so i cant do that. what other options do i have? why is it doing this shocking?

sounds like the thermostat. can you bypass it (ie connect the two wires together) and make it run all the time? If so, replace the thermostat

I'm trying to find out the age of my Beverage Air BM23 Kegerator. It's serial number is #823620I.

Scott,

Your Beverage Air Kegerator model BM23 / serial: 823620I - that serial didn't bring anything up when I called the manufacturer but based on the first 2 digits of the serial and the roman numeral 1 at the end of it - it would appear that your unit was manufactured in 1982 (If that number was on a metal tag then it defiantly was 1982).

We specialize in cooler gaskets and can help you locate the gasket part your unit needs. We also are able to get many other hardware and accessory parts for Beverage Air units and other manufacturers. Let us know if we can help.

Kegerator is pouring all foam

Try rinsing all that foam out, dry it out with hair dryer and begin again AFTER reading the WHOLE operators manual. No one ever reads the instructions. If all else fails you may have to exchange or replace the unit.

Have not used the kegerator for several years. Plugged it in and it immediately started getting cold. Then I unplugged it to move it and when I plugged it back in it does not get cold.

Check to see if any of the compressor electrical items came loose when moving.
I had this happen to a customer and he called someone else in who tried to sell him a new compressor.

Older Superior Brand Kegerator Freezing

Sounds like the fan can be running backwards. I'm not sure of you exact model, but it has to match the air flow of the original unit. Do you remember? Some manufacturers use reversable motors and are some what easy to reverse.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Beverage-Air Kegerator Not Staying Cold

It can take a very long time to get a keg of beer down in temperature. The heat transfer from a keg is slow due to the lack of air circulation inside the keg. You should also check your condenser coils, make sure they are clean. Door gasket should also be in good repair. Hope this helps.

Beverage air dd58 kegerator won't stay cold

The unit is probably low on gas again. If it lasts a month the leak may be difficult to find, as it may be a small leak. Those units don't hold a lot of gas. Have someone do a nitrogen leak check and fix the leak. If no leak is found, have them install a UV dye to help find the leak. :)

There's a loud humming in my danby kegerator after about 25 minutes of being plugged in. Everything was fine for about 2 months. The model number is DKC645BLS. Any ideas would be welcome.

Maybe a locked up compressor...is it cooling at all?

check your owner manual but it should have a 5 year sealed system warranty..
