Washer moves during spin cycle

If this is a newly installed washing machine have you taken out the four big bolts on the back of the machine? It holds the drum to prevent it from moving during transportation when it was delivered. if machine runs during fast spin it will make the machine vibrate heavily causing it to move

I am looking to buy a used 4 year whirlpool duet washer and dryer. Do you need transport bolts to move either? Also what capacity is the washer and dryer

The transport bolts are required to be installed before transporting the machines. This is to support the suspension system to prevent damage to the machines during transportation.

The washer has a capacity of 9.0 kg or 19.8 lbs with a volume of 3.7 cubic feet. The dryer's capacity is 7.0 cubic feet.

I have a LG WM0532HW. What are the drum bolt sizes thr.& length

Hello Jeff,

Unfortunately, these are specially made bolts that have threads only on the first section of the bolt, so they can secure the wash drum and not interfere with anything else. You also need the special sleeves for the bolts. I would not try to use standard bolts from a hardware store, as they could damage the wash drum if you overtightened them or they were too long. LG, and most washer manufacturers, don't publish the size, thread count and length of their transport (shipping) bolts, hence the reason they advise to keep them for future use.

So if you're only moving the washer down a set of stairs, you should be fine if you take it easy and either hand carry it with two (2) people, or use an appliance truck to move it down the stairs.

If, however, you're looking to move the washer any distance via truck, etc., you'll want the shipping transport bolts and sleeves to keep the drum and suspension system from getting damaged.

You're best bet is to get in touch with LG customer support and obtain a set of the transport bolts. You can reach them by callling them from 8AM to 8 PM toll free at 1-877 714-7486 and follow the prompts to reach customer support.

Here's a link to the owner's manual for your washer, just in case you've misplaced yours.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

URGENT~no clue how to reinstall transport bolts for moving washer

The long one go on the bottom and the short one go on top the hole for the shipping bolts are on the back might have a clear plastic cover over the holes on the back panel there is only one way to put them in start by hand tighten the bolts with nothing in the drum the holes should line up one you fill the catch and get hard to turn start using a wrench when it is done try shaking the inner tub it should not move all the shipping bolts do is keep the tub from slapping around inside the cabinet and breaking things Good luck

How to INSTALL the shipping or transport bolts prior to moving my washer?

there should be i think 3 holes in the back of the washer and u need i believe the orange shipping bolts and they screw into the back to hold the drum in place because if u move without the u have a very good chance of breaking the shocks which there are 4 and they are about 30 dollars each plus the price of labor of installing new ones and there not very easy to get to.
