What does a readout of "L6" mean?

It also chirps once every 30 seconds. It plugs in or takes a 9-volt. Thanks

I unplugged the unit for a few minutes, then plugged it back in. Now it's giving me Lb and beeping every 30 seconds no matter what I do. The battery is at full charge.

My Kidde Carbon monoxide beeps every 30 seconds and is showing L6 with a flash of 0? It is brand new. What does this mean?

L6 is actually "Lb", which is a low battery warning. If the 9V battery is missing, or if the battery's power is low, an "Lb" message will display, which blink's alternately with the current CO reading, while chirping. If this happens, you need to replace the battery.

My kidde carbon alarm chirp every 30 seconds and shows L6 on the dispaly, also the red light goes off and on

"L6" display & chirping sound, indicates you need to change the 9 volt battery in the detector.

New KN-coPP_3 ON INSTALLATION. tHREE 8'S APPEARED QUICKLY FOLLWED BY CHIRP ANDTHEN CONT. ATERANATING BET "L6" AND "0"and a chirp every 10 sec's.

"L6" is actually "Lb" which means "Low battery". If you just bought the battery it may be defective. Try a different, known-good one. If it works OK, return the first one for a refund. *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle. Words to live by: "Every creative act results from a sudden cessation of stupidity." -Edwin H. Chirp every 30 second

Hi,

There are 2 things you can do:
1. Check and change batteries.
2. Clean them. Ensure they are completely clean.

If that does not work, you can ask the local fire dept. to look into it free.

Other than that you will have to take it in for servicing/repair.

My CO detector is chirping every 30 seconds or so, there is no battery to change and receiving error code 09

depending on what model number you have .. if its a model kn-cosm-b then is actually has 3 AA batteries inside ... the model kn-cob-lcb-a, while it runs on 120 volts, still has a 9 volt battery inside .. in fact most models have a battery backup so that they still work if there is a power outage .. the chirp indeed tells you that the backup battery needs changing .. if you cant find the battery give us the model number and we can help ... sometimes they are hard to find ..

Depending on manufacturers and such, the catalyst detector element itself may need to be replaced occasionally. Usually cheaper and faster to just get another detector.

Detecotrs have a limited lifespan of 5-7 years. So sounds like you need new one (It's not worth to buy just a sensor). Take a look on amazon: Amazon com Carbon monoxide detector (watch out on reviews). I hope this was helpful. cheers
