This happens often with Sansa Media Players, your best bet is to delete all your songs off the device, then re-add them again. But this time have your device on hold, which is having the switch at the top of the device pushed to the right side. This will make sure nothing happens while the device is syncing.
Turn it on into recovery mode (Hold + Record Button + Power) Connect to computer (You should detect a 16MB drive) Make an empty text file inside the 16MB Drive and rename it to "sansa.fmt" Unplug the Sansa. You should see now a "Formatting..." on the Sansa's screen. Sansa fixed!
Ok, so I feel like an idiot....
The software did in fact get downloaded....the problem was me...(of course!)
I went to Settings on my mp3 player and went to Mode and somehow it had gotten switched from Rhapsody to the PlaysForSure mode. In the PlaysForSure mode it acts like a "normal" mp3 player and will not sync with Rhapsody....so my Rhapsody software wasn't needed in this mode. After I switched it to the Rhapsody mode everything worked like it was supposed to with my mp3 player.
The Sansa Sandisk e260r is a great little mp3 player. Everytime I've had problems with it...it's been me not understanding it.
1.pull the quit button for like 15 sec maby some sec more..
2.check if you got any trash in your mp4 empty all crap
3. there is some firmware uppgrades but if you are gonna do that serch much before for useful information on sites like www.google.com
this site got many like have done firmware uppgrades ..
if you go into www.sansa.com i think it is you got a uppdate software like is very easy to use but not sure that it works
i hopes that it goes well and sorry for my bad english
I've had nothing but problems with my e260 since I bought it. It's been freezing, showing corrupted album art, etc. I installed the firmware updater yesterday and today after repeately trying to get it to boot into MTC mode I got the "glowing thumbwheel, no screen" problem. I opened the back and popped the battery out for a second and put it back, and the unit started up for me. Based on past performance, I can't see it running for long, though.
