SOURCE: i have a husky compressor, model number y6010-wk.

Problem: My compressor is not producing the air that it once did. It takes twice as long to pump up.
Solution:
1)Turn off your compressor or disconnect the power.
2)Remove the connector tube that sends air to the tank.
3)Remove the head bolts on top of the pump.
4)Remove the head off of your pump.
5)Remove the valve plate off of your pump. It may be a one piece or a 2 piece design.
6)Inspect the valve plate for broken reed valves or broken gaskets above or below the valve plate.

SOURCE: Mastercraft 2.0 hp air compressor will not build up over 25 psi

sounds like a bad or broken valves in the head. crankcase needs a vent which is sometimes a small hole drilled into the oil fill plug and will normally blow some air out the vent while it runs

SOURCE: I have a Husky model Y6010 air compressor.

First remove the valve using probably about a 1/2" wrench but make sure there is no pressure in the tank before you do so. check the cone and seal by loosening the valve by hand and check for debris. If there is no debris then the problem is either the pressure relief valve or weak pressure regulator but may also be a bad piston seal if it is a direct drive unit.

Probably the check valve has failed. It apparently is where the pipe goes into the tank from the compressor.

SOURCE: I have a model FP209501 Air Compressor 2 Gallon,

The spray gun consumes more air volume than the compressor can deliver. You can pause painting periodically to allow the compressor to 'catch-up' or buy a larger delivered-volume compressor. The compressor that you have was intended to supply air for pneumatic nailers and staplers in an intermittent fashion. Hope this helps!

It sounds like you need to replace the run capacitor , if yours is weak or defective the motor will overheat. Check "Drillspot" for a replacement. Another major cause of overheating is due to a dirty air filter , you should check it first.

My husky air compressor model is WJ10064AJ. I got this compressor my brother in law. The compressor runs but the pressure is low. It shut off at 75 psi and 75 lbs on air. I have to shut it off for a while...

All of your problems indicate the pressure switch is bad. I don't know which part number to recommend because Campbell Hausfeld (Husky) model numbers have six digits and there aren't any model numbers or part numbers I can find that start with WJ. You need to contact Campbell Hausfeld (1-800-543-6400) to see what part you have to order to fix your compressor.

You hit the nail on the head ... it is the regulator. What does it say on the side? What are they advertising the pressure and the SCFM? (Standard Cubic Feet (per) Minute)

The boss recently bought a Husky. It is rated at 6 SCFM @ 200 PSI (as I recall) ... Its regulator turns the machine off at 240 PSI then delivers the air through a regulator. In my case, I throttle it back to 150 PSI so I can get 80 PSI at the end of my 75 foot long hose. The machine comes on around 150 PSI (or of course any lower number) and takes for ever to build pressure back.

Should you change the regulator setting? Only if you want to diminish the performance of the compressor and possibly void the warranty. If yours doesn't have a regulator, I suggest you add one.

I hope you have found my comments helpful ...

I have a model FP209501 Air Compressor 2 Gallon,

2 gallons is small to begin with u need to buy an in line pressure adjuster/regulator their a few bucks and can be attached to the paint gun or line and will keep the pressure at ur adjustment the regulator on the tank sets the tank pressure at 50 so when u us it will let it drop down to about 45 than start up to build the pressure up to 50 than shuts off than repeats it self the inline keeps pressure steady even if tanks are at 200 psi
