Scanner has a lock on it that sounds like it needs to be unlocked. See user manual for info on where scanner lock is if it has one.

I have an error code 68 what is this?

The error code means a key is stuck; enter the service diagnostic mode and perform the key test to determine which key is stuck. Once the key is determined, try to unstuck it; replace the Electronic Control Board (Part Number AP3851146 if the error code continues to appear after the button is unstuck.

Press and hold simultaneously the Select and Cancel buttons for six seconds to reset the control then immediately after the buzzer sounds, turn the cycle selector knob 5 clicks counterclockwise to position the cycle indicator light second (Touch Up) from the bottom.

Press and hold the Options and Cancel button simultaneously for two seconds to enter the service diagnostic mode. The buzzer will sound three times and all of the LEDs will flash indicating the service diagnostic mode has been entered successfully.

Rotate the cycle selector knob 4 clicks to the Heavy Duty cycle; the motor runs with the heater off. The buttons can now be tested. Press each button and all corresponding LEDs should flash; otherwise the button is stuck or a faulty. Unstuck the key and perform the key test again; replace the control board if the problem is not resolved.

Access to the control board requires the removal of the top panel and the console. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the two screws attaching the top panel to the rear of the dryer then slide the panel rearward and lift it off the dryer.

Remove the four screws, two on each side, securing the console to the front panel then flip the console forward. Disconnect the wires from the control board and lift the console off.

Remove the five screws mounting the control board to the console and lift the control off. Remove the control board's rear cover by releasing the two locking tabs the flip the cover off the control board. Try to unstuck the faulty key and reassemble the dryer in reverse of the disassembly steps.

Hope helps.

Hi when i install my audio drivers.. it says no media device found.. please help me.

Do the following steps to rectify this problem :
Step 1 .Reset the default BIOS settings:
You can try resetting the sound default in the BIOS. Here's how:
  1. Turn the PC on. When the Windows logo first appears, press the F1 key or Dell key repeatedly until you see the BIOS setup screen appear.
  2. Press the F5 key ( Setup defaults). In some other PCs depending on the manufacturer the BIOS at start-up will have one of the default options that have names such as - ‘Load Fail-Safe Defaults’ and ‘Load Optimised Defaults’.You will have to choose ‘Load Optimised Defaults’
  3. Select Yes or OK, then press the Enter key on your keyboard.
  4. Press the F10 key, then select Yes or OK to save the default settings. Press Enter.
  5. Exit the BIOS and restart your system checking for sound.
( For most PC's entering the BIOS will be the same but if it differs for your system, consult the operating manual for instructions on entering the BIOS.)

If this doesn’t work go to step 2

Step 2 . Configuring on-board sound in the BIOS:

Some computers come with sound on the motherboard (on-board), and some computers use a sound card. The on-board sound setting in the BIOS has to be set according to your particular sound configuration. Perform the following steps to correctly configure the sound in the BIOS:

Look at the back of your computer and use one of the following three items to determine the proper sound configuration and sound setting:
If the plugs for the speakers and microphones are located next to the parallel, serial, or USB ports, then the computer has on-board sound. The on-board sound setting in the BIOS should be Enabled. If the plugs for the speakers and microphone are located away from the other ports and sit in an area by themselves, the computer has a soundcard. The on-board sound setting (if there is one) in the BIOS should be Disabled. If the computer has sound plugs in both locations, a
soundcard has been added to the computer that already contains on-board sound. The on-board sound setting should be Disabled. To enter the BIOS, turn on the computer and when the first screen appears, press the F1 key /Dell key repeatedly until the BIOS Setup screen opens. Use the LEFT and RIGHT ARROW keys to select the Advanced tab. Press the DOWN ARROW key to select Onboard Audio Options and press ENTER. If Onboard Audio Options is not available, select I/O Device Configuration and press ENTER. If Audio Codec is listed, select it and press ENTER. Select either Enabled or Disabled depending on your configuration and press ENTER. Press the F10 key and then press ENTER to save and exit Start Windows and check for sound. If there is still no sound, continue to the next Step.

Step 3 . Reload the current sound driver

To do this, follow these steps
1.Click Start, type Device Manager in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
2.In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
3.Locate the audio device that was included with the computer.
4.Right-click the device, and then click Properties.
5.Click the Driver tab.
6.Click Uninstall.
7.Make sure that the Delete the Driver Software for this device check box is cleared, and then click OK.
8.In the Device Manager dialog box, click the Action menu, and then click Scan for hardware changes.
You should see a message that a hardware device is being installed. Additionally, the uninstalled audio device is now present in Device Manager.
9.Close the Device Manager dialog box, and then determine whether you can hear sound.

If your computer came with a motherboard CD, the audio drivers should be on the disk.

If you don’t have the CD go to your computer manufactures web page to search for updated sound driver software. Read the instructions on the download pages carefully
before installing.

If there are no updated sound drivers available, use Microsoft's Windows Update feature. Connect to the Internet and try the following items until Windows Update opens:

1.Click Start, and then click Windows Update (if it is listed).
2.Click Start, click Settings, and then click Windows Update (if it is listed).
3.Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update (if it is listed).
4.Go to Microsoft's Web site and click Windows Update from the Downloads menu.

Check if the sound works now….if it still doesn’t work then most likely the sound card might be faulty.

Edirol Midi Keyboard Controller PC-50 Many notes no longer sounding. Can't get into keyboard to check contacts

Well, you have to get into the keyboard. There will be screws or latches that hold the case together.

SOMETIMES screws are hidden beneath stuck on rubber feet.

SOMETIMES plastic latches are where there are slots... have to be careful as they can break if you don't open them right.

WORST are latches along the sides that you have to pry open... knowing where they are is key.

You will probably find that the keys consist of conductive rubber "pills" that are in silicone rubber domes that the keys press against finger-like circuit traces on a board under the keys.

Clean BOTH the pills and the traces with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and a Q-tip.

Down key has quit working. Key clicks when pushed, no signal is emitted

There seems to be an issue with the Harmony 880/890 where, after a time, certain buttons that are used more often become unresponsive. They either need to be pressed very firmly (and sometimes held down for a few seconds), or they stop working entirely. This is probably due to the wearing out of the metallic bubble button that is beneath the film adhesive of the circuit board. Instead of trying to repair this condition, you can re-map the down key to any other button on the remote that is not being used by the Activity. You can even create a 'soft' button to be used on the screen. Here is a link to a good post on the Logitech forum which describes how to test the button and re-map it. Good Luck!

Laptop key board are messd up

If you have changed the keyboard type in 'regional and language options' you can manually pull of the keys and stick them back on where they should be. It sounds like someone has done that to your keyboard so no regional setting could fix this.
Instructions for Windows Vista
Click Start and then Control Panel In Control Panel, if you are in Classic View, click on Control Panel Home (top left corner) Open Clock, Language, and Region Click on Regional and Language Options. Click the Keyboards and Languages tab and then click Change keyboards. Under Installed services, click Add. In the Add Input Language dialog box, select the keyboard layout you would like to add from the list available and click OK. The keyboard layout you added will be included in the list. To set the new layout as your default, select it from the list. Click OK to save your changes You can switch between different input languages (= keyboard languages) by clicking on the Language Bar button or by pressing the Alt + Shift keys
