connected new monitor to Dell XP machine...
the monitor setting changed to 640x480 , and would allow no access to make any change to what it now shows as 'default monitor'(not plug and play),...
the adapter is shown as unavailable...
Somewhere I found a place to check to disregard the current adapter (which appeared to be nothing)...so I did thinking it would find something
BUT now when the computer is started, the windows logo appears, but the screen just goes 'blank' ---not a blue screen or black... just a nothing screen-
I can't access the computer to undo the checkbox...
What can I do... and why did connecting the monitor cause the computer to do what it did ?
