SOURCE: Wiring for VR-505

This is like buying a car without the power steering pump, which specially designed proprietary part. I am not familiar with that particular model, but if it requires special wires, then you may have problems obtaining them and may need to go to the Manufacturer. You would not have accepted a car that had no power steering pump, just because the salesman recommended it. Fortunately we are talking about a manufacturer with integrity and I am almost sure that you will get your cables, as long as you can prove ownership. Did you ever examine the sockets on the receiver, which could be simple RCA jacks. Do that before you go to the manufacturer. Then you can go to Radio Schack after you look in your junk pile to see what kinds of wires you have in that special wire box. CONSTANTIN (arzconst)

Is the 407 set up to drive the unknown sub. It's not just plug n play.

The manual will guide you, around page 15. Also refer to your subwoofer manual. Try retrevo.com for that one.

SOURCE: type of cabel for a woofer for a Kenwood VR 505

That would depend a lot on the subwoofer, which you did not name. I'll assume it's a self-powered model of some sort.

A sngle RCA cable from the Subwoofer Preout wll get you started. The other end is unknown.

You'll aslo have to set up the recever to know it has a subwoofer and other parameters. Find the manual at retrevo.com.

SOURCE: how can i connect my

I assume you mean you want TV-related sound to play through the Kenwood.

It's in the manual.

I personally would recommend minimum TV involvement in sound and minimum receiver involvement in video, but that's just me.

You might want to ponder why you would need audio from a TV in the first place if it originates elsewhere like a Cable Box. The fewer hops and interconnects a given signal takes on the way from the source to your ears, the better (and cheaper, too, as optical or HDMI cable is expensive). You COULD skip the TV entirely. Many don't even HAVE audio (monitors, for example). The receiver only NEEDS a basic composite video output to the TV so you can use the TV for setup and control. You COULD run vanilla stereo audio to the TV from the Cable Box for watching Oprah.

I run all of my best DIGITAL audio directly from the sources to my VSX and the best DIGITAL video directly from the sources to the TV.

SOURCE: I have a kenwood vr-407

Grab the free manual and start at the beginning. This IS a new install since the memories are probably back to defaults if it was unplugged for awhile.

yes it very much has everything to with it. your sub out is at a pre-amp lvl, so you can route that signal to another amp, then to your passive sub, or get a powered sub
