My calypso washer displays the OB code. I assume it means out of balance but when I fluff the clothes and restart it the cycle does not complete and the clothes still remain wet. The tub begins to spin and the cycle still displays OB. The tub is only about 1/4 full of clothes.

Re: Calypso GVW9959K washer with OB code
This is a common problem with the Calypso washers. The problem that you are having is related to the pump. There is something in the pump that is causing the error code to occur. Since the pump isn't working right all of the water isn't draining out thus causing it to be out of balance. If you can get down to the pump and check it out chances are you will find something in it. It might just be some fabric or string from clothing caught around the pump motor. Just make sure you clamp off the hoses or you will flood your laundry room. Once you clear out the pump unplug the washer and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this was helpful. Good luck and glad I could help.
I had same problem exept Pump splines were stripped out. Tech told me it would be $250 to fix. I took pump off motor shaft leaving the hoses hooked up. Put a dab of 2 part epoxy in pump splines, put pump back on motor and waited 60 minutes. Works great and cost me 25 cents to fix.

for using FixYa. Error ob indicates off balance, if the motor controller
detects an unrecoverable off-balance condition, the machine controller will
shut down and display an “ob” for off balance. The lid switch must be opened at
least once before restarting the cycle, if this condition occurs. Opening the
lid will allow the customer to view and redistribute the load. Press
STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. Please do rate the solution if the issue is
resolved or post a comment for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
is this the code your refering to

cuz they list no code 06 hope this helps
The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control. You say this happens when the washer is empty also. One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.
If the OB error was cleared and the OB occurs with an empty load then the motor control has failed.
The drain pump must work. The image below shows how to run a diagnostic test to check the drain pump. Follow the instructions in the image below and check the drain pump operation. If the pump runs and the water does not drain then the sump is clogged. If the pump hums but does not run then the pump needs to be replaced.
OB MEANS OFF BALANCE if the motor controller detects an unrecoverable off-blance condition, the machine controller will shut down and display ob. the lid switch must be opened at least once before restarting the cycle if this condition occurs. opening the lid will allow you to view and redistribute the load. press stop/cancel to clear the display. hope this helps.
CI (an "i", not a "one") and OB are related - overloaded, the washer's motor controller will draw too much current and either the average current will peak ("CA" error) or the instantaneous current will spike ("CI" error). OB - out of balance - indicates of course a load that is not balanced, or is too heavy.
Wash less items and see if the problems lessen. That is what we have had to start doing, but we still can wash a BUNCH of items in this type washer!
Off Balance. From the service manual (you can google error codes for these machines), if the motor controller detects an unrecoverable off-balance condition, the machine controller will shut down and display an "ob" for off balance.
The lid switch must be opened at least once before restarting the cycle, if this condition occurs. Opening the lid will allow you to view and redistribute the load.
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.
This could be an out of balance condition. When its happened to my washer, I rearrange the load if its large enough, and if its not, I find other items of like weight and add them to the load and start over. Calypso's are sensitive to fabric weight, so If you're washing towels, wash only towels and wash cloths. Make sure you put small items, like bras, panties, nighties, etc., in mesh bags and combine them with other light weight fabrics.
LD code means your pump is cloged with lint or small piece of clothing such as a sock. I had the same code on my washer and sure enough i found my pump cloged with lint from a blanket my wife washed. hope this helps. sorry I cant help on the other code.
