Flat Cable Info.

Thanks for your reply on my LCD problem. I took apart the camera and located the flat cable which is, as you noted, broken(ie.snapped). it would be great if you could supply me with the necessary information(part number etc) so i can find and replace it. Thanks a mil. :) The camcorder model is a Samsung VPD 351

Thanks for your help. I got onto the site you recommended but unfortunately they only supply parts to the models sold in the USA-Which unfortunately does't include the model I have. Do you know of any other site that might have info on them? Thanks. :)

Best thing for you to do, would be to contact Samsung, and give them a complete description of what flat cable you need to replace. Do not just say flat cable as there are several flat cables in this camcorder. Good Luck http://www.samsungparts.com/customerservices/contactus.asp

How do i remove and replace my keyboard for satellite a205 laptop

Agree with LaptopRepair. The procedure for Keyboard removal is pretty close.

Wanted to add information on the FFC connector though.

If you have never dealt with a Flat Flex Cable connector, you are going to be in the dark, and could break something.

1) The flat cable from the Keyboard to the motherboard, is a Flat Flex Cable.

2) The connector on the motherboard the FFC connects to, is an FFC connector.

3) The Flat Flex Cable removes FROM the FFC connector.
> Just the flat flex cable, comes out of the connector on the motherboard.

Again, The flat cable by itself comes out of the connector, with no connector on it.

4) The FFC connector on the motherboard, does not come away from the motherboard. It is attached to the motherboard.

The FFC connector on the motherboard does not come apart in two pieces.

It opens to release the flat flex cable.

The FFC connector ONLY opens so far.
(1/8th inch ?) It is a two piece connector, but does Not come apart.

Looking at the FFC connector, you will spot a parting line going across the middle.

The top half of the connector looks like a fat T.
The two tabs on either side at the top of the Top half, make the T head shape.

These two tabs are pushed towards the LCD screen.
Ease one tab up a little, then ease the other tab up.

This opens the connector, and allows the flat flex cable to come out.

Install the flat flex cable from the New Keyboard, in the same direction as the old Keyboard's flat flex cable.

One side of the flat flex cable has exposed copper strips. (Contacts)
The other side does not.

Be sure to install the flat flex cable of the Keyboard in the correct orientation.

Do not rate this information. Just added info.

sounds like a connection from a ribbon cable or connector that connects the LCD to the curcuitry. Best this is twist or tap on side of camera to see if it changes and if it does and you feel comfortable taking apart tiny electronics lke this Go for it clean the connector(s) running from the LCD BUT I warn you if your not expereanced to do this I would contact the manufacturer as most companys have flat rates on most repairs.
