Kenmore 98702 Stacked Washer / Dryer WON'T DRAIN

Hello, I have a Kenmore 98702 Stacked that will not drain after the wash cycle. It will still [try to] spin, and agitate, but when the wash cycle is over the pump does not come on to drain it. How do I test/replace the pump? Where would I get a new one? Thanks.

Thanks for the response. Yes, it used to drain just fine. Now when it gets to the point when it should drain, there is no noise except for the timer. The unit has not been moved, and if there was a pinched hose, it seems that the pump would still be making some sort of noise ...

Did the unit ever drain? If it did, has anything changed?

Make sure the drain hose in back has not pinched (unit slid backward against the wall, pinching the hose.).

Motor is two speed, and if it's not kicking to the high speed, then there may be a timer problem.

Double check the drain hose then, and while your back there, make sure there is an air gap between the drain hose and the standpipe (drain pipe is larger diameter than drain hose.).

If it's not that, then pull the back panel off, and track down the pump. Make sure none of the hoses there have collapsed, and if all looks OK, pull them off and look inside to make sure something hasn't clogged them. And you can always test to see how well the washer drains by bringing a trash can inside, and drain the water into it.

Let me know what you find and I'll give you some more direction.

SearsPartsDirect will have the pump, if you need one. There are otherplaces on the internet that you can order one as well.

sounds like the pump failed, its always worth getting repair price first as could be as little as 40 or 50 pounds to supply and fit a pump where new machine will cost few hundred.

Get the control panel off and remove the water pressure tubing. Blow it out and reconnect to pressure switch. Remove water so that pressure can once again build inside the tube. Retry>

Our kenmore stackable washing machine on the rinse and wash cycle is not filling up with water. the water keeps running out

Make sure the drain hose is not pushed too far down the drain pipe. It could cause a siphon effect and drain the tub.

Make sure the drain hose is not tight in the drain pipe. It should fit loose so as not to trap the air which can also cause a siphon effect.

Kenmore Washer/Dryer Does Not Drain. Please Help!

Check out your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean(ref manual). There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Some connect to sink, fine. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

If the above fails, check to see if your pump is blocked. Pl rate if helped.
