Re: Where can I buy a new control valve for my lux7000?
Some manufactures, like electrolux have to bring in parts from overseas, making lead times a real issue. I do understand your frustrations, as this is something I deal with every day. BUT there is hope... I am including a link to Electrolux's web site, and a dealer locater, try putting in your zip code, and possibly zip codes for cities that you wouldn't mind traveling to.

Your new filter should last more than a week but you may have to clean it thoroughly after each use. One problem with vacuums that do not have a bag is the surface area of the filter is usually not very big so it does not take much fine dust to clog the pores of the filter. If air can't pass through the filter the motor will get hot and shut off.
For the user's/owner's manual, go to the below link, click on the arrow below where it says "Older Models", click on Lux 7000, click on "download". If you want a service manual, they are only available to Aerus Electrolux stores.
For retracting the cord, try tipping vacuum up on it's back end and gently pulling and releasing cord. This will often cause it to retract. If not, keep in mind that the canister portion of this vacuum has a 7 year warranty on it, so depending on when you purchased it, the cordwinder may still be covered. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, or abuse. There are other things that will void the warranty.

little fan first, then hour glasss spacer washer side down then larger fan, with spacer sticking throug then small fan. then normal spacer. assambley starting from top part down, your local vacuum cleaner shop should have switches or contact rainbow, but will be cheaper to go local store
Sounds like you really need a new belt. Don't know why it is taking so long for you to get one. But belts stretch and then won't turn the brush roll under load. Call around to your local repair shops, must will a good selection of belts on hand.
You will need to contact a vacuum store. The Fantom company went bankrupt years ago and the parts are no longer available. As far as I know, these machines have not been on the market for a long time. I strip these units for any usable parts and hang on to them for this type of situation, but slowly, I've been throwing these parts out, as no one is asking for them. You should consider buying a new vacuum. Stay away from the big box store models. Your best option is to go to a vacuum store. They know what is the best unit for the price and any reputable store won't sell junk. Sorry, but your vacuum is at the end of it's road.
