Depending on the unit and the exhust pipe you might have what they call the condensate catcher in wich it has to be piped diffrently,, you will need to cut the end if you read the instuctions it will tell you to cut the outer cover 1/2 inch shorter then the stainless pipe, cutting off the hubb this will make it fit,, make sure to cut it straight so it will seal properly

Black soot on outside wall above hot air exhaust. Excess flame, incomplete combustion? How to adjust/correct?

All gas water heaters, tankless and tank-type, require cleaning burner and combustion parts.
Tankless manuals suggest once per year.
Tank-type once every 2-3 years.

Size of the exhaust vent pipe on a 75 gallon gas water heater? Is it the same size as on a 50 gallon water heater. Brand is GE, mfg 2008

I believe it takes 4" vent pipe up to 100,000 BTU
BTUs are shown on label side of tank.

Does new water heater have power vent? What does manual say?
Are you experiencing vent problem now? When you light a match and put it under vent stack, does smoke immediately get pulled upward? Are furnace and waster heater connected to same venting. Is there dark exhaust stain around vent hood? Does exhaust vent back out of vent hood when furnace kicks on? Are flue pipes stained with rust and white coating? Are vent pipes vertical, or are there level runs? Are the pipes made of galvanized and screwed together with 3 screws at each joint?

I have a Bosch Water Wizard 960 400 NG. How do I adjust the water temperature??

In New Zealand, the Bosch 960 Water Wizard has a maximum temperature of 55 degrees celsius, for safety reasons, check with your local gas fitter or plumber to see if your system has been set correctly. If water feels hot through some taps in the house, but not others, then there is a good chance your water pipes are not insulated, meaning that the heat from the water is escaping out through the pipes before it gets to the shower, for example. As far as I am aware, there is no way to manually adjust the water temperature of a Bosch 960 Water Wizard, it has to be done by a certified professional gas fitter. Recommendation: Get a more up-to-date gas water heater, that doesn't require a manual restart each time the pilot light goes out.

You can look into an electric flue damper. It must be tied into the heater controls so the fail-safe is that the heater will not operate unless it senses that the flue is open.

The boiler says there is a problem with the fan or flue?

You should be able to hear if fan is running. If it is running & not making squeaking or grinding noises, most likely the flue (pipe that exhausts fumes outside) is plugged. Bird nest, beehive or some other restriction.

Burner goes out when it was running

Hi,
Here are a few things you need to check.
Make sure that the temperature limiter and the flue gas limits are not tripped.
Make sure that you have at least 30 PSI of water pressure.
Also check to see if you have a plumbing crossover and make sure that it is set correctly.

Bosch 1600H won't work on windy days

The incorporation of an anti-back flow, flue pipe insert may be your solution, also the pilot flame control may need to be adjusted up a little.

Good luck
