The easiest way is to download the software from the Canon website. The install file will allow you to select the printer, and you won't have the issue of not finding your printer driver in the drop down list where it asks you to select one.
1. Download Software from Canon website: www.usa.canon.com/download
2. Plug printer in with USB cable.
3. Run downloaded software.

My MacBook pro says that the epson printer is offline. but if I use my iPhone, it prints. please help

Try checking the ip address range on your MacBook. Apparently Mac Laptops tend to change their network ranges when they come in range of a new network. This means your printer is no longer in the MacBooks LAN address range. Also check and adjust your printers IP address and if necessary change it to DHCP or Auto addressing

My Canon MP250 says it is offline- but there is no option of resuming the printer in the system preferences (MacBook Pro)- What other solution(s) could there be? I've tried restarting both devices

Go to System Preferences > Hardware > Print & Scan > click on add printer or scanner. Now let the OS search for printer under Default tab.
If it finds your MP250, great. Proceed with adding and delete the old MP250 printer in the list.

Printing using MacBook Pro

Take the provided USB cable that came with the printer and connect it to the macbook pro. From this point go to your system preferences in your mac. Go to the printer setting, from there it should recognize your printer and you will have a variety of options, including setting it to your default printer.

Can't print from MacBook, through Time Capsule, to Lexmark x5470

turn on the printer sharing via the system preference panel on the computer that is on the system via usb.
Then on your wifi computer look for shared printers and you'll see your printer in the list under the host computer name... use that setting and it should fire up for you!
let me know how it goes...

Print Queue is stuck on

This is old, but I will post my solution for anyone else who might be having this problem.
In Mac OS 10.5: Go to System Preferences under the "apple logo" menu. Then select the "Print & Fax" module. Select your printer from the list on the left, and then click the "Open Print Queue…" button. Select the job(s) you want to cancel, and click the Delete button.
In older Mac OS 10: Go to the Utilities folder in your Applications folder, and open the "Printer Setup Utility". Double click your printer in the list. Then it is the same as above: select the job(s) you want to cancel, and click the Delete button.
