Vacuum still works with wand, but brushes will not turn. It is not smoking or smells funny
There's a reset button down on left side of powerhead in the black plastic at base that corrects the problem of that red light
Thank you! It was hard to find the reset button, but that did the trick. The light came on after hair needed to be cut off from around the roller and the canister was full.
Awesome it worked!
I love this vacuum and would hate to have lost it
I had the same problem and had no idea about the reset switch. Thanx so much for posting your answer!!

Does the power head motor stop, or does the brush roll stop. If it is the brush roll stopping, replace the belt and/or the brush roll. If it is the motor, you may need to clean out around the motor, it may not be getting enough air to cool causing it to overheat and stopping. That the brush roll plate off, take out the screw, and the top will come off, then you can check to see if cleaning is the answer, if not, the motor may be bad.

I think I know what the problem is with your machine. It's a rather lengthy repair, and I'll be happy to photograph it for you (like I do on most of my Fixya answers), but I'd like to know before doing all of that if you still need help, or if you've already fixed it.
Thanks,
CJ
