SOURCE: Replace drum baffle on Maytag MDE7500AYW dryer

When you open the door of the dryer you will find screws on each side. First remove the screws that hold the door on, then move to the next side. Once the screws are out you should be able to lift the front panel right off. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this was helpful to you. Good luck and I am glad that I could help.

Inside the drum, one of the metal things is loose. It appears that it is held on with screws, so they are probably loose. Could you tell me teh easiest way to access the outside of the drum so I can...

The top cover needs to be lifted to the rear of the dryer to access the outside of the drum and tighten the baffle screws. But before the top cove can be lifted, the front panel must be removed first. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Open the dryer door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

The top cover is held on each side of the cabinet by two hold down brackets. Locate and remove the 5/16" hex-head screws holding each bracket then swing the bracket to the outside and unhook it from the slot in the top panel lip.

Open the door then lift the front of the top panel and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer.

Rotate the drum until the baffle screws are on top to tighten it. Reinstall the top panel and the front panel by following the removal steps in reverse order.

As dryer rotates, with clothes drying, it sounds like loose pocket change is loose in between the two tubs.........help!

the change gets caught in the three baffles that are attached to the drum.unplug the dryer, open the door and remove the two screws that hold the in place, remove the door, then remove the other two screws opposite the door screws and pull the front panel off.rotate the drum so one of the baffles are down in the right hand corner so you can get at the screws that hold the baffles onto the drum.try loosening the screws but you might have to remove the baffles to get to the change.let me know how you make out

The paddle on the drum has come loose, how do I tighten it?

I just had the same problem with my Atlantic. The paddles are held on by 2 bolts. You will need to remove the 2 screws holding the dryer door in place and the corresponding screws on the other side. Pull off the front panel of the dryer. You will then need to rotate the drum with the baffle at the 5:00 position to gain access to the bolts that are holding it on. Tighten the bolts with nut driver or socket wrench, reassemble, and you should be good to go!!!

I have Whirlpool Duet Dryer that has a noise.

It is common for small items (such as coins) to get stuck inside the dryer drum baffles. You can easily remove them without disassembling the entire dryer. The screws that hold them in place are located on the outside of the dryer drum. In order to access, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the dryer.
2. Remove the top panel of the dryer by removing the three screws located in the back of the dryer holding the panel in place. Once the screws are removed, the top panel slides back, then lifts off.

Each drum baffle has two screws holding it in place. Remove the screws and the baffle will drop into the drum allowing you to easily check inside each one.

Another source of dryer noise is something caught in the blower fan housing. You will need to remove the lower toe panel directly below the dryer door to access. Follow these steps:

1. Open the dryer door and remove the lint screen (the blower fan cover will not come off with the lint screen in place).
2. Locate the screws that hold the toe panel in place along the bottom front edge of the panel. HINT: Propping the front feet of the dryer up can give you better access to reach the screws (a 2x4 works well for this). With the screws removed the toe panel will drop down, then come off.
3. Remove the screws that hold the blower fan cover in place.

Inspect the blower fan housing for any objects that may be vibrating against the fan blades.

If you still need further assistance, please let me know. I hope you find this helpful.

Baffle is loose on drum. How do we get access to fix the baffle

The screws that hold the drum baffles in place are located along the outside of the drum. Usually, you need to lift the dryer top in order to access them, and they can be tightened without removing any components. However, all dryers are not contructed the same and access to the drum can vary. If you would please post a brand name and model number it would help in being able to determine exactly how your dryer is configured.

DRYER FIN IN DRUM IS COMING LOOSE

Unplug the dryer, remove the door hinge screws that go into the cabinet and the two screws on the opposite side of the door opening, then the front panel can be removedby starting at the top. Once the front is off, there are two screws, one to each side that hold the top on, remove these and raise the top. You can rotate the drum by hand and the baffles are held on by the screws on the outside of the drum. Reassemble in reverse order.

Maytag Neptune Dryer

the top cover is fastened by spring like tabs on the machine rear. the front edge of the top merely clips to the front panel. the top needs to be removed to gain access to the bolts that hold the front panel on. these are inside the top corners of the machine. once these are out, the front cover should just pull up to remove. there may be a light connection and the door switch wires here too. then you can get to the screws that hold the baffles in place.

Fix Loose Baffles

The two screws that hold the door door hinges and the two on the opposite side of the door opening hold the front panel in place. Once you remove the door and the other two screws the front panel should swing down to access the screws that hold down the top. But you may be able to reach the baffle screws once the front cover is removed.
