I would suggest just going into your account settings on facebook and changing from your email to a phone number and change your account to a private account so that only your friends family and other people you want to see your profile can, and may have access to your phone number. this will take your email off the account which will then aloow it to have no path to your email...

I hope that this helps if i doesnt i will get back to you with a more complicated way of fixing this issue thanks.

Try these solutions:
1. Go to settings > accounts > Google > **your email**@gmail.com > Enable Gmail sync
2. Settings > Mobile Data > Gmail > Restrict access disabled
3. Settings > Mobile Data > (menu button) > Enable Sync
4. Settings > Applications > (scroll right to all) > Gmail > Show Notifications enabled
5. Gmail > (menu button) > Settings > **your email**@gmail.com > Enable Notifications and enable Sync gmail.

*Note that I'm using a dutch language on my phone so the terms I used are guessed translations, actual buttons might have a somewhat different text on your phone.

I have my setting to let me get e-mail messages and comments for facebook, but it's stopped working. Facebook is only showing me messages and comments if I go to my facebook account. ...

Go on www.facebook.com 1. Click on account (right top) 2. Click on account settings 3. Click on notification (the top bar) 4. Click on the notifications you want to receive
If you still don't get them, check your spam folder.
Another problem could be, that you ignore the user you want to get notified from: On the facebook frontpage after login 1. click the little triangle next to the "Most recent" 2. click "edit options" 3. Say which notifications you wan to see, which user to ignore etc. This also affects the mail notification.

How do I stop my Facebook messages from being emailed to me? It's driving me crazy, especially on my phone.

To control what email notifications Facebook sends to you, simply go to the "Notifications" tab of the Account page.

If the notification is from an application, you can block any application on Facebook. To block an application, navigate to the application’s about page. At the top right of the page will be a "Block Application" option.
