Question about Jazz DV-179 Digital Camera

Web cam Jazz camcorder won't work

Hooked up jazz 179 camcorder/camera to computer and followed direction to use as web cam but does not work. Jut disconnects from computer.

Can't get the the Jazz DV151 to communicate with my computer...
My wife got the same jazz camcorder.This is what i did to get it to read on my computer.I am running Vista ultimate but im sure this would work for XP as well.I connected the cam to the computer and without batteries i pushed the power button and held for 2-4 sec and voila it found the sd card i had.I am not sure if it works with batteries in it but i figure it should. Hope this works for ya

Try this link, while it is a different camera brand, it is the
exact same camera as the JAZZ HDV178, just rebranded.

The software and drivers are the exact same, and worked for
me. Post back if works or not.

One possibility is that perhaps the USB port in the back of your computer may not be providing enough power for the camcorder to recharge or operate properly. Do you have another USB port to try?

If you are using desktop computer workstation, you may want to add another USB card to your computer.

I believe that the camera will not charge directly from the computer - testing this theory myself... however I went to Radio Shack tonight and they have them there for 30 bucks (a bit outragious if you as me)

Web camara
plug it into the computer with the USB. and a red light in the back of the cam will come on. push the record.play button...and it will work

How do you use a Jazz DV179 as a webcam?
Once your camera is hooked up to your PC select Record/Play mode on the back of your Jazz. Then pull up the program you wish to use with your web cam and follow the instuctions to set up audio/video. The information can be found on pge 10 of your Jazz user manual uder 3.4.2 PC Camera Mode.

Why does can't i tranfer my files from my jazz dv140 video recorder to my computer? it shows what i took on the screen but when i try to tranfer it to my computer or even put the card in another camera it it says there is no files on card? i put the card back in the recorder and they are there and can be watched.
