    This is for CoolCat.

I was looking for a Video Controller Driver for my ACER TravelMate 2355LCi. I was directed to an ACER website and went there but couldn't find it, I was then told it is also called an Intel VGA Driver so I went back to that site and download it but whn I went to install it told me it can't install it with the current Graphics, I am not sure what that means? Anyhow, I have the Driver but can't install it. Does that mean I need some other component to boost whatever Graphics I have on this machine?

I found a driver Intel 852GM 3D AGP. I went to install it but it aid that my Laptop already has a nw version of this Driver and yet when I go to Device Manager and click on VGA Compatible it says that this device doesn't have Drivers installed and do I want to install them now so I click yes, it goes onto the net and tells me that it can't locate these Drivers. Last time it said it can't install thee Drivers on the current Graphics Device.

Please do let me now why that might be.

I went to add hardware but it gives me the add new hardware wizard and that takes me through the whole process again of searching and telling me it can't install the drivers. I rebooted the machine but the same thing. When I go to Device Manager and right click on Video Conroller (VGA Compatable) and click on properties it says that the drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28) but if I click install now I go around in circles again.

Hi. Thanks. I did what you said and it came up with a bo which gave me options like View, uninstall, view file data, roll back Driver.

I cicked on Driver details and it says "No Driver Files are required or have been loaded for this device."

When you ask for data about the device in another box it says that this device is not using resources as it has problems so it's contradicting itself.

From reading the other comment I think you have the updated driver if the is the case reboot your computer and it may update (it may not be able to update while it is using it) then after rebooting go to add remove hardware and update driver if the computer wants a location go to Window/inf and it should find the right driver from there you may ge one of three messages I have the most updated driver or do you want to replace it or do you want to keep or replace this driver from here I would try any of them you can always go back to how it was before See if this works and get back to me if it does not

Go to Control Panel then to System and then click on Hardware and then click on Device Manager and if you see Video Controller (DO NOT RIGHT CLICK) If you keep left mouse clicking you should come up with a Window with Device and Properties There should be a tab Driver and there is an Option Update driver I have done this and sometimes it comes up with you have an up do date driver and it also comes up with do you want to replace driver (Not sure why you mentioned Right Clicking) Try That

then once the file is downloaded, right-click on it, then choose Extract

just go next next next finish and it will pop up your extracted files

Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" is not installed my computer is acer travelmate 292lci intel centrino mobile technology

Is there a yellow exclamation mark next to the video controller when you look at it in the control panel device manager. If so, right click on the affected device and select update driver software to allow Windows to search and install. Other than that, go to the Acer website and search for the specific VGA Controller driver for your laptop in their service and support pages.

I have laptop acer serie travelmate 2420 but I use OS windosw7,,so when I instal driver the origin vga of that series is not compatible.... how the solution??thanks a lot

I checked and found that it is having an intel graphics card. You have two options for updating it.
1) Try to install the Win XP drivers and update it from device manager.
2) Try to download the intel drivers from the Intel Website.

If u need to know the details of the VGA card, u can get it from BIOS.
