I just replaced the switch in my hunter ceiling fan. I put L - black; 1 - gray; 2 - brown; 3 - green. Now the problem is that it won't turn off. I just have 3 speeds that go faster. This is not...

You got the wrong switch!!!! Just because it looks the same on the outside(switch) doesn't mean it's the same on the inside. Call 1-888-830-1326 with your model # and order the correct switch.
The model # will be 5 digits starting with a 2

I found my Hunter Original fan's switch to be frozen, so I went in search of a replacement. I bought a 3-speed switch with similar wiring (red, blue, and black wires). I wired it up and turned it on. ...

I think you have the power wire mixed up. Your power supply to the switch should be black. And in most cases goes the the L-1 labeled on the switch. If you have trouble finding the power just plug the wires in and use a simple light or voltage tester. Once you have the power wire just touch each wire 1 at a time and you can tell the speeds. Once you have the speeds hook them up to low being 1 med.2 high 3. Then your done

Lol did you get a 3 wire switch ... they are made to use with more then 1 switch ie: in a room with doors @ opposite sides you may have 2 switches that work the same light or fan. This may be your problem, check the package ... if not check the switch, good luck!!

Fan and lights comes on automatically

· If you installed more than one remote-controlled ceiling fan, set the DIP switches on both receivers and the control of one fan to an identical alternate sequence (such as "all up" rather than "all down"). Otherwise, when you turn off the ceiling fan in one room, it will turn off the fan in the adjoining room. You can also go to the internet and enter GOOGLE.com in the GOOGLE search box enter Hunter.com homepage. You should find all the help you need there.

Fan is Erratic

Ceiling fans with wireless remote controls have an electronic receiver installed in the fan, which controls the light, dimming, and fan speed. Sometimes the receiver goes bad and needs to be replaced. If you have had any power outages or power surges, they may have fried the receiver. I've noticed that my ceiling fan light turns on when the power is restored after a power outage. Now, whenever my power goes out, I shut off the light switch that powers my ceiling fan so It doesn't experience a surge to to the controller when the power comes back on. I've purchased new receivers on eBay and Amazon to replace my blown remotes and receivers.

Remote control

in the remote and the fan the little blue box is called a dip switch
you will have to open fans base to access the remote power sender
on both the fan and remote the dip switches have to match in order for the remote to work the fan properly
or your signal will never make it to remote box

Wall switch

I had this same problem (sort of) - my daughter lost the remote to our fan and it would not work from the wall switch. What you have to do is go up to where your fan is connected to the ceiling, slide the canopy down, and remove the remote transmitter. Then just rewire the fan normally - white to white, black and blue to black, and the ground wires together. Turn on the power and your fan light should work with the wall switch. You will have to pull the cord for the fan to work.
