is it just the bottom shelf or are you having problems with everything freezing ie: milk, eggs, veggies?

Fridges really aren't my expertise. It takes special training to work on a fridge due to the freon and I didn't ever do that training. Best bet would be to just submit the question to the help area and see who can help you there. If you need any help on a washer or dryer or even a dishwasher let me know and I would be glad to help. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.

If it frrezes up even with the control set to 1 then you have a bad temperature control. the t-stat is loacted in the control housing in the refrigerator section. this housing is usually held in place by 1 screw near the front then swings down for access. you can get pt#2201754 from sears or a local appliance parts house in your area. just 2 wires so its not hard to do.
sorry it took so long to get back to ya. good luck peyton

The first thing to check is if you can hear the fan running inside the freezer. This not only keeps the whole freezer cold it alspo circulates air down to the refrigerator keeping it cool as well.

I've actually ran inti this problem alot. its just a design flaw. the objects that are freezing are close to the direct flow of cold air coming from the freezer into the fresh food compartment. adjusting the temperature will result in the same condition. The only thing you can do is rearrange products closest to the air duct. You may even gave to rearrange the shelves. Just ran into this same problem yesterday when i was dispatched to a customers home. Its just a stupid flaw in the design of the fridge.

Adjust the freezer damper to a higher number to reduce cold air flow to the fridge section. This will eliminate freezing in the fresh food section.

has the cold air circ fan stopped or jammed? this will allow the cold air to drop to the bottom and not circulate.

Water drains from freezer compartment into refridgerator

If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me
