Re: whirlpoo refridgerator question
If it frrezes up even with the control set to 1 then you have a bad temperature control. the t-stat is loacted in the control housing in the refrigerator section. this housing is usually held in place by 1 screw near the front then swings down for access. you can get pt#2201754 from sears or a local appliance parts house in your area. just 2 wires so its not hard to do. sorry it took so long to get back to ya. good luck peyton

I've actually ran inti this problem alot. its just a design flaw. the objects that are freezing are close to the direct flow of cold air coming from the freezer into the fresh food compartment.
adjusting the temperature will result in the same condition. The only thing you can do is rearrange products closest to the air duct. You may even gave to rearrange the shelves. Just ran into this same problem yesterday when i was dispatched to a customers home. Its just a stupid flaw in the design of the fridge.
the drain in the freezer is clog make sure the drain from the freezer
is clean all the way to the pan next to the compressor . you need to
open the back wall of your freezer for that ( the inside wall) clean
with buster (water pump)the drain is in the bottom middle of the freeze.
If the freezer is on top then empty out the freezer and remove the bottom and back liner of the freezer compartment usually phillips screws. In the back you will see the freezer coils along with a defrost element. Below these two items u will see a drip tray that collects water from the coils on defrost cycle, in the center of the pan will be a drain hole that connects to a hose that leads to a pan under the refrigerator.Normally the water is collected there and evaporated. The hole in the tray in the freezer is clogged. Thaw it and clean it until you can pour water in it and it goes to the pan down below. please rate me
YOU FIRST SOLUTION TO THE DRAIN HOLE FREEZING UP YOU NEED TO GET A TECHNICIAN TO HAVE A LOOK AND REPAIR IT,IT WILL BE BEST IF HE INSTALLS A PAD HEATER TO KEEP THE DRIP TRAY FROM ICING UP.YOUR SECOND PROBLEM YOU NEED TO SEE IF THE DRAIN HOLE IN THE FRIDGE SECTION IS NOT BLOCKED WITH ANYTHING IF SO HAVE IT CLEANED AND POUR SOME HOT WATER DOWN TO WASH OUT WAT IS IN THE DRAIN PIPE.GOOD LUCK.MOHAMED
